Deal Room Templates let you start a new deal room from something proven instead of a blank page. A template carries real content, not just structure, and every use creates an independent copy.
ℹ️ Deal Room Templates are not the same as content templates. A Deal Room Template is a whole room you start from. A content template is a single piece of content you build inside a room. For content templates, see Use and create templates.
ℹ️ Deal Room Templates are available in the Spekit Hub (Web App) today. Support in the Sidekick (Chrome Extension) and Spekit MCP is coming soon.
1. What a Deal Room Template is
A Deal Room Template is a saved copy of a full deal room that anyone with access can reuse.
When you create a template from a deal room, it copies 6 things:
| Copied | |
|---|---|
| Header image | Content |
| Header text | Featured content |
| Sections | Internal content |
Before templates, reps cloned their last deal room and deleted the old customer's details by hand. Templates remove that step, and with it the risk of leaving private information in a new room.
2. Where you see templates
Templates appear in 3 places on the Deal Rooms page, plus the creation flow.
| Where | What you see |
|---|---|
| Start with a template section | Near the top of the Deal Rooms page, so new reps find templates without looking for them |
| Templates tab | Sits between Shared with me and Archived. Holds every template you can see, with search, sort and filters |
| + New Deal Room | Opens a menu with Start with a template and Start from scratch |
| A blank deal room | Shows a Use template option beside Add Content |
3. Spekit templates
Spekit templates are ready-made Deal Room Templates built by the Spekit team. Every company sees them by default, so reps can use templates on day 1 instead of opening an empty tab.
They are a starting point, not a requirement.
| Action | Who can do it |
|---|---|
| Use a Spekit template | Anyone who can create a deal room |
| Clone one and edit the copy | Account Admins and Team Admins |
| Archive one for the company | Account Admins only |
| Restore an archived one | Account Admins only |
You cannot edit a Spekit template directly. Clone it, edit the copy, then publish the copy to your teams.
💡 Pro Tip: Start with a Spekit template rather than a blank one. Clone it, change the sections to match how your buying committee works, and publish that. It is faster than building from nothing.
4. Who can create a template
Everyone can create a template. What changes by role is whether it is private to you or needs publishing.
| Role | Can create | Starts as |
|---|---|---|
| Account Admin | Yes | A draft, published to teams you choose |
| Team Admin | Yes | A draft, published to teams you manage |
| Expert | Yes | Private to you, ready to use right away. No audience to pick |
| Viewer | Yes | Private to you, ready to use right away. No audience to pick |
5. Who can see which templates
Visibility depends on your role and, for admins, the teams you manage.
| Role | Sees |
|---|---|
| Account Admin | Every admin-created template in the company, including drafts, plus their own and Spekit templates |
| Team Admin | Their own, drafts and published templates from admins on teams they manage, templates published to their teams or All Teams, and Spekit templates |
| Expert | Their own private templates, templates published to their teams or All Teams, and Spekit templates |
| Viewer | Their own private templates, templates published to their teams or All Teams, and Spekit templates |
ℹ️ Templates created by Experts and Viewers are private. No one else sees them, including admins. Drafts never appear when someone creates a deal room. They appear only in the Templates tab, for the people who can edit them.
