Get oriented inside a Learning Path before you start building. This article is a map of the screen. It explains the header, the progress bar, the 2 tabs, the content panel, and the tools on each piece of content.
ℹ️ Note: This is the admin view in the Spekit Hub (Web App). Learners see a simpler version of the same path with your sections, their own progress, and no editing tools.
1. The header
The header runs across the top of the path and holds the identity and the main actions.
This table explains each element, left to right.
| # | Element | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Back | Returns you to the Learning Paths list. |
| 2 | Name and icon | The path name and its icon. Click the gear icon to change either. |
| 3 | Status | Shows whether the path is Draft, Published, or Archived. |
| 4 | Settings (gear icon) | Update name, icon, assigned teams, due date, and URL targeting. |
| 5 | Share (arrow icon) | Copy a link to the path. Only assigned learners can open it. |
| 6 | Archive (box icon) | Retire the path and move it to the Archived tab. |
| 7 | Notify users | Send an email or in-app notification to assigned teams, with an optional message. |
2. The User Progress bar
Below the header, a single bar shows how the whole path is doing.
It displays the number of learners who have finished, for example "2 of 6 users completed", with the completion percentage on the right.
ℹ️ Note: This bar only appears on published paths. A draft has no learners yet.
3. The Content and Analytics tabs
The path has 2 tabs.
This table explains what each one is for.
| # | Tab | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Content | The builder. Add content, create sections, reorder, and preview any item. |
| 2 | Analytics | Completion data for this path. Switch between By path item and By learner. |
Inside the Analytics tab
The Analytics tab opens on a Completion panel. A line under the heading tells you how many learners are assigned, across how many teams, and confirms that progress counts every item in the path.
Use the toggle in the top right to switch between 2 views.
| View | Columns | What it answers |
|---|---|---|
| By path item | Content, Learners completed, Completion | Which items are holding people up. |
| By learner | Learner, Items done, Completion, Status | Who is behind, and by how much. |
In the By learner view, click the arrow next to a name to expand that person's row. You see every item in the path with a status of Read or Unread, so you can tell exactly where they stopped.
Both views have a search box, so you can jump to one item or one person instead of scrolling.
ℹ️ Note: Completion is counted across every item in the path. A learner who has read 2 of 9 items shows 22%, whether or not those items sit in the same section.
💡 Pro Tip: Start in By path item. If one item has a much lower completion than the items around it, the problem is that item. Only switch to By learner once you know the content is fine.
4. The Content panel
The Content panel on the left is the structure of the path. It is also what learners see as their table of contents.
This table explains each control.
| # | Control | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | + Section | Creates a new named section to group content under. |
| 2 | + Content | Opens the add menu: add from content library, create a Spek, sync files, upload files, add a Knowledge Check, or create a Role Play. |
| 3 | Panel chevron | Hides the whole panel so you can read content full width. |
| 4 | Drag handle | Appears to the left of every item and section. Drag to reorder. |
| 5 | Content type icon | Shows what the item is, for example a Spek, a file, or an AI Role Play. |
| 6 | Section chevron | Collapses or expands that section's contents. |
| 7 | Section + | Adds content directly into that section. |
| 8 | Section ... | Renames or deletes that section. |
Click any item in the panel to open it in the preview on the right.
ℹ️ Note: Content items carry their own state. An item saved as a draft shows a Draft label in the panel.
5. The content preview tools
When you open an item, a row of tools appears above the preview.
This table explains each one.
| # | Tool | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Favorite (star) | Saves the item to your favorites. |
| 2 | Copy (pages) | Copies the content. |
| 3 | Download (arrow) | Downloads the item. |
| 4 | Version history (clock) | Shows previous versions of the content. |
| 5 | Analytics (bar chart) | Opens analytics for that single piece of content. |
| 6 | Edit (pencil) | Edits the content directly from inside the Learning Path. |
ℹ️ Note: Editing here changes the source content everywhere it appears, not just in this path. Learning Paths pull content live from your library.
💡 Pro Tip: Check Version history before you edit content inside a path. If several paths use the same Spek, your edit reaches all of them.
An AI Role Play item works differently. Its preview shows the role play name and an Edit in Role Play studio button. The toolbar has 2 tools only: analytics and delete. Click the analytics icon to open User analytics for that role play, with pass rate, average score, and a per-user scores table you can download as a CSV.
6. Best practices
Use these habits when working inside a path.
| Best practice | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Build sections before adding lots of content | It is much faster than sorting 30 loose items into groups later. |
| Preview every item after adding it | What looks right in the library can read badly as step 4 of a path. |
| Collapse the panel when reviewing | You see the content the way a learner will. |
| Watch the status badge | It is the quickest way to confirm whether learners can see your changes yet. |
