[Admin & Rep Guide] Learning Path FAQs

Quick answers to the questions we get most often about Learning Paths. If you cannot find your answer here, submit a request at the bottom of the page.

1. Creation, structure, and content

Can I control the order of content in a Learning Path? Yes. Admins set the order, and you can change it any time by dragging items in the Content panel.

Where do I add content? Click + Content in the Content panel. This button used to be called + Add. To add straight into a section, click the + button on that section's row.

What can I add to a Learning Path? The + Content menu gives you 6 options: add from content library, create a Spek, sync files, upload files, test with a Knowledge Check, and create a Role Play.

Can I add an AI Role Play to a Learning Path? Yes. Select Create a Role Play from the + Content menu. Reps practice a live conversation inside the path and get scored, just like any other step.

Can I filter my list to only paths with a Role Play? Yes. Switch on Only paths with role play above the Learning Paths list.

Can I sync Confluence pages into a Learning Path? No, not at this time.

Can I assign a Learning Path to an individual user? Yes. In Learning Path settings, use By user to pick individual people. You can combine it with team assignment.

How do I assign a path to new hires only? Assign by team, then tick Only assign to new users added to the selected Teams. People who join that team later get the path. People already on the team do not.

What does adding a parent Topic do? It makes the Learning Path visible on that Topic page, so your team finds it where they already browse.

2. Sections

What is a section? A section is a named group of content inside a Learning Path. Sections turn one long list into a few clear stages.

How do I create one? Click + Section at the top of the Content panel, then name it.

How do I rename or delete a section? Click the ... menu on the section row.

Can I collapse a section while I work? Yes. Click the chevron next to the section name.

Do learners see sections? Yes. Your section names appear on the learner's path, so they always know where they are.

Can I reorder sections after publishing? Yes. Drag a section by its handle. All content inside it moves with it. The change is live for learners immediately.

What happens to content if I delete a section? Delete removes the section from the path. Your source content stays in your Spekit library and is not affected.

Do I have to use sections? No. Sections are optional. We recommend them for any path with more than 6 items.

3. Finding and organizing paths

Where do I find all my Learning Paths? In the Spekit Hub (Web App), click Hub, then Learning Paths. The list has Published, Draft and Archived tabs, each with a count.

How do I search for a path? Use the search box above the list. It matches on the path title.

Can I filter the list? Yes. Filter by parent Topic, by team, or switch on Only paths with role play. You can combine filters.

Can I sort the list? Yes. Click any column header to sort. Click it again to reverse the order.

How do I clear my filters? Click Clear filters. It appears next to the filters as soon as one is on.

What does the Needs attention card mean? It counts published paths where learners are falling behind. Click the card to filter the list down to just those paths.

What does Learner assignments count? It counts assignments, not people. One learner assigned to 3 paths counts as 3 assignments.

Can I act on a path without opening it? Yes, and the options depend on the tab. On Published you get edit path, assign learners, send reminder, view analytics, and archive path. On Draft you get edit path, assign learners, and archive path. On Archived there is no menu, just a Restore to draft link.

4. Access, assignments, and visibility

How do users access a Learning Path? Assigned users click Assigned in the top navigation. It is in the same place in both the Spekit Hub (Web App) and the Sidekick (Chrome Extension).

Can users complete Learning Paths in the Chrome Extension? Yes.

Who can see a shared link? Only users assigned to that Learning Path. The link does not grant access on its own.

5. Editing, updates, and lifecycle

What happens if I edit a Learning Path after publishing it? Adding, removing, or reordering content and sections is reflected immediately for all assigned users.

Do users lose progress if a Learning Path is updated? No. Progress is kept.

What happens if I remove content from a Learning Path? Removed content no longer appears for new users. Existing users may still have access depending on prior interaction and permissions.

If I edit a piece of content inside a path, does it change everywhere? Yes. Learning Paths pull content live from your library. Editing the source updates every path that uses it.

Can I delete a Learning Path once it is published? No. Published paths cannot be deleted, but they can be archived.

What happens if I archive a Learning Path? It is removed from active use and moved to the Archived tab. It can be restored later.

Can I restore an archived Learning Path? Yes. Click Restore to draft on its row in the Archived tab. It returns as a draft and must be republished to go live again.

What do the draft statuses mean? Needs content means the path has no items in it yet. Ready to publish means it is complete and can go live.

Why does my path show a Topic name under its title? That is the parent Topic the path sits under. Paths inside a Topic are easier for your team to find, because they appear where people already browse.

6. Progress, tracking, and analytics

How is completion tracked? Automatically, as users move through content and complete Knowledge Checks.

Where do I see analytics for one path? Open the path and click the Analytics tab. Switch between By path item and By learner.

How do I find where learners get stuck? Use completion by item in the Analytics tab. A sharp drop at one item usually means that item is too long, out of date, or in the wrong place.

Where do I see Learning data across the whole account? Click Analytics in the top navigation, then Learning. The Learning Paths Dashboard covers every path at once, with tables for path progress, Knowledge Check results, and AI Role Play scores.

How is a learner's completion percentage calculated? It counts every item in the path. A learner who has opened 2 of 9 items shows 22%. Sections do not change the maths.

Can I see which items a single learner has opened? Yes. In the Analytics tab, switch to By learner and click the arrow next to their name. Each item shows as Read or Unread.

Can I see AI Role Play scores? Yes. Open the role play inside the path and click the analytics icon. You get pass rate, average score, and a per-user table you can download as a CSV. Role play scores also appear in the Learning Paths Dashboard.

What happens when a user completes a Learning Path? It leaves their active queue, but all the content stays available for reference.

Can users revisit content after completing a Learning Path? Yes, at any time.
