How to create a Knowledge Check
1.) Go to the Spekit Web App.
2.) Click the New button, and select Knowledge Checks in the drop-down.
3.) Title your Knowledge Check.
NOTE: The Knowledge Check title will also be visible to Viewers.
4.) Choose if you'd like to include an intro page for your Knowledge Check. The intro page gives an overview of the Knowledge Check and offers an optional learning resource for the Viewer to read before performing the Knowledge Check.
5.) Create Knowledge Check question(s).
- Each Knowledge Check can have up to 4 questions.
- For each type of multiple-choice question, there can be up to 4 options to select from:
- Single Select questions can only have 1 correct answer, and users will only be able to select a single answer choice.
- Multiple Select questions can have (at least 1 and) up to 4 correct answers, and users will be able to select various responses to submit. To get the question right, your user must select all correct answer options and none of the incorrect answer options.
How to adjust Knowledge Check settings
1.) With the Knowledge Check open, click the Settings button.
2.) Choose the audience from the available teams. Multiple teams may be selected.
3.) Next, choose a Passing Score. This is the number of questions the Viewer needs to get correct to pass the Knowledge Check.
4.) Once a Viewer has completed the test, they are directed to the score page. A link to additional resources, such as Spek or a URL, can be added to direct them to more information.
The resource will be linked to the View Learning resource button at the bottom of the Review your answers page.
5.) Choose to Allow Users to Retake Knowledge Check. If this setting is enabled, users will be able to retake the Knowledge Check an unlimited number of times. If a user retakes the Knowledge Check, the results for their latest attempt will be available in the Knowledge Check analytics tab, as well as the total number of attempts they have made. Click here to learn more about Knowledge Check analytics.
Note: This option is not selected by default, and cannot be updated once a Knowledge Check has been published.
6.) Next, choose to notify Viewers via email, in-app notification, and/or Spotlight.
💡 Pro Tip: We recommend creating a Spotlight to the Knowledge Check for further visibility.
7.) Once complete, select Publish or Save Draft.

How to link Knowledge Checks to a Spek
A great use case for Knowledge Checks would be to embed them into Speks to ensure knowledge of the Spek is absorbed.
Example: You are launching a new opportunity process in Salesforce and want to ensure your tenured reps understand these changes. In that case, you may want to embed a Knowledge Check in the last Spek to ensure they understand the differences.
1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Click Wiki.
3.) Click on the Knowledge Checks tab.
4.) Locate the Knowledge check and click on the 3 dots next to the title where a drop-down will display. Click Share.
5.) Click Copy link.
6.) Go back to the Spek and add the URL with the hyperlink text option. Here are instructions on how to create a Spek.
Note: Only users that are part of a team added to the audience of a knowledge check will be able to access the knowledge check from these links successfully.
What does the Viewer experience look like?
Knowledge Checks are taken in the Chrome Extension (in the panel on the right side of the screen). A user must install the Chrome Extension to complete the Knowledge Check.
If they Pass the knowledge check, they will see a note indicating that they passed, and be able to review all of the questions and correct answers.
If they do not pass the Knowledge Checks:
1.) If retakes are not enabled for the Knowledge Check, they will see a note indicating that they did not pass, but they will be able to review all of the questions and correct answers.
2.) If retakes are enabled for the Knowledge Check, they will see a note indicating that they did not pass and that they should try again!
In this case, they will be able to review the status of their answers (which questions were marked correct or incorrect), but they will not be shown the correct answers for all questions.
