Experiencing issues with Knowledge Checks? This guide provides troubleshooting tips and steps to help resolve common Knowledge Check problems. Some solutions may require Account Admin access.

Â
Access & EditingÂ
If you’re running into issues editing a Knowledge Check after it’s been published—or have questions about what can be changed—start here:
Why can't I edit the Notifications or other fields on a published Knowledge Check?
âś… Resolution:When a Knowledge Check is published, certain fields are locked to prevent changes that could compromise live user data and reporting integrity. This is the intended behavior.
NOTE: You should still be able to edit fields like Allow users to retake. If you can't access this option on a published check, please contact support.
What if I accidentally publish an incomplete Knowledge Check?
âś… Resolution:This shouldn't happen. The system requires all necessary fields to be completed before publishing. If any sections are incomplete, error indicators will appear next to the corresponding sections, preventing you from proceeding until the content is fixed.
What happens if a character limit is exceeded during creation?
âś… Resolution:Error messages will appear, prompting you to reduce the length of the content in the respective field (Title, Question, or Answer Options) before you can publish.

User Access & NotificationsÂ
If users aren’t able to access a Knowledge Check, didn’t receive notifications, or are having trouble opening it from an email, start here:
What happens if a user receives an email but doesn't have the Spekit Chrome Extension installed or isn't logged in?
âś… Resolution:The user is handled automatically based on their status:
- If the Extension is Not Installed: The user will be directed to a page informing them they need to install the extension, with a download link provided.
- If the User is Not Logged In: The user will be redirected to the login screen. Once they log in, the Knowledge Check will appear in the Knowledge Checks widget on their Web App or Extension home screen.
