Navigating a Spek in the Chrome Extension

- Favorite
- Share
- Copy Content to Clipboard
- Expand
- Edit
- Clone
- Mark as Read
- Reactions
- Navigate Speks
- Zoom in on an Image
- Shortcuts
1. Favorite
- Starring a Spek saves the Spek to the starred items, making them available whenever you open the Chrome Extension.
2. Share
- Users have the ability to share Speks with other Spekit users or externally (Admin/Experts or SmartSend customers only), simply by clicking ‘Share’ and copying the link.
- Admins have the ability to share Speks internally or externally.
3. Copy Content to Clipboard
- Copy the content of a Spek, including images and videos, to save time rewriting the exact details.
- Click Copy and then paste it to the desired location by right-clicking or using the shortcut ctrl+v.
4. Expand
-
The Expand feature will allow you to move the Spekit Chrome Extension wherever possible. You can view the Spekit Chrome Extension side by side:
- Follow a Topic sequence.
- Remove it from covering fields and buttons.
- Use side-by-side with any process.
- Clicking the Expand button will move the Chrome Extension off of your browser and alongside any window, allowing you to browse the full screen.
5. Edit
- The edit button will launch the editing window for that Spek.
6. Clone
- Click the Clone button inside any Spek to duplicate the content and customize it to your needs.
7. Mark as Read
-
The Mark as Read button allows a User to know which Speks they’ve reviewed and the ones they have left to review in a Topic.
-
When a Spek is marked as read, the Spek won’t disappear from the list of Speks under a Topic. So you will be able to search for and view the Spek again. The Spek will have a Read indicator:
- As an Admin, you can view if a user has marked the Spek as read in the Spek Management dashboard.
8. Emoji Reactions
- Take a second to leave feedback with the click of an emoji. Reactions allow anyone on your Team to give a simple sentiment response so content creators can quickly improve (or celebrate!) training.
-
There are six available reactions:
- 😍 = Incredible
- 💯 = On Point
- 🎉 = Celebrate
- 👍 = Helpful
- 🤨 = Confused
- 👎 = Not Helpful
- As an Admin, you will be able to review every Spek's reactions in the Spek Management dashboard.
9. Navigate Speks
- Users can navigate from Spek to Spek in the Chrome Extension, allowing for easier functionality in reading content and in making sequences even more accessible.
- In the Spekit Chrome Extension, you will see buttons with arrows labeled Next and Previous at the bottom. The navigation buttons will allow you to easily navigate through to the next or previous Spek.
10. Zoom in on an Image
- You can click on any image to zoom in or expand any videos to full screen.
11. Shortcuts
- With these keyboard commands, you can now perform various actions with ease. Here are the keyboard commands:
-
To open the sidebar:
- Command + Shift + S on Mac
-
Alt + Shift + S on PC
- If no text is selected, this will open the sidebar to the home page with the search bar focused.
- If text is selected, this will open the sidebar to the search results page with a keyword search executed and filters pre-selected for Speks and undocumented.
- NOTE: The old command "S" will also work for a period of time while users adjust, but we will eventually deprecate it.
-
To close the sidebar:
- Command + Shift + X on Mac
- Alt + Shift + X on PC
NOTE: If you have conflicts with these key commands in your browser (1Password also uses the command + shift + x), you can manage your extensions by going to Chrome: //extensions/shortcuts and configuring the shortcuts manually.
