Adding multimedia to Speks is a great way to engage your Viewers. Short videos, gifs, PDFs, and more make Speks interactive and fun to learn. Learn how to use embed code, images, and other items into Speks. You must have Account Admin-level access to upload and embed content into Speks.
How to upload an image to a Spek
With Spekit you can upload images and GIFs. For each image or GIF that is uploaded, Spekit supports up to 5 MB in size.
1.) Click to Create or Edit a Spek.
2.) Click Upload, and locate the image you want to upload.
3.) Select the image.
4.) Click Create Spek/Save.
💡 Pro Tip: You can also drag a drop an image from your computer into a Spek.
NOTE: You can opt to embed files that are hosted in different sources, such as Google Drive, Box, etc, through the iframe embed code.

Box iframe embed code walkthrough
In Box - All Files:
1.) Click the three horizontal dots.
2.) Click More Actions.
3.) Click Embed Widget.
4.) Look for the Embed Code heading, and click Copy.
Note: Box gives the option to select a Size for the embedded file.
You will receive a green confirmation that says Copied.
5.) In the Spek, click the </> icon to paste the iframe embed code that was copied from Box.
6.) After you paste the iframe embed code, click Enter on your keyboard OR click Embed.
The body of the Spek editor will show you the embedded file as seen below.
8.) Scroll down to click Create Spek or Save.
9.) Click to view the Spek you just created in the Topic.
How to add an iframe embed code to a Spek
1.) Copy the iframe embed code you generated from the Google Doc, Sheet, Slide, etc.
2.) From the Spekit Web App Wiki, click the Create button, then click Spek.
3.) Add the label name of the Spek.
4.) Click the </> icon.
5.) Paste the iframe embed code. Be sure the copied iframe embed code starts with <iframe> and ends with </iframe>.
6.) Hit the Enter key on your keyboard.

How to create an iframe embed code in Google Drive
How to set viewing permissions in Google Drive
1.) In Google Slides, click File.
2.) Click Share.
3.) Set the Share with people and groups permissions to Anyone with the link.
4.) Click Done.
How to generate the iframe code in Google Slides
1.) In Google Doc, click File.
2.) Click Publish to the web.
3.) Click the Embed tab. Adjust the settings as desired.
4.) Click Publish.
5.) You will see a popup that asks: Are you sure you want to publish this selection? Click OK.
6.) From the Embed tab, look for the section with the highlighted text.
7.) Copy all of the iframe embed code information. Be sure the copied iframe embed code starts with <iframe> and ends with </iframe>

How to embed an image from Google Drive in a Spek
In Google Drive, open the folder containing the image and be sure the Share permissions are public.
1.) Click the image name.
2.) Click the three vertical dots (upper-right corner) of the screen, and click Open in a new window. Another Google Chrome tab will open.
3.) Click the three vertical dots (upper-right corner) of the screen again, and click Embed item.
4.) Copy the entire iframe embed code shown in the box that appears.

5.) In the Spekit Web App, click to either Create or Edit a Spek and click the </> symbol.
Be sure your iframe embed code starts with the <iframe and ends with the closing tag </iframe>.
6.) Paste the iframe embed code you copied in Google Drive into the space and press Enter on your keyboard or click Embed.
7.) Click Save.
How to embed an Office 365 video into Spek
Customer requests that we embed videos in Speks, but the shared location of the video is somewhere in their internal Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams, etc.).
We do not have access to the Office 365 video links, so we cannot copy the embed codes into the Spek. In order to embed the video snippets into each Spek, please refer the customer to these instructions.
To get the embed code for a video that is managed in Office 365 Video. Sign in to Office 365:
1.) Select the Office 365 app launcher icon, and then select the video tile. This takes you to Office 365 video.
2.) Navigate to the full playback page for the video managed in the Office 365 Video portal that you want to display on your site.
3.) On the video page in Office 365 Video, click embed.
4.) A box will appear with the embed code for the video.
5.) Copy the full embed code.
6.) Be sure to include the beginning <frame> and the ending </iframe>
7.) Copy the full iframe embed code, and add it to the Spek.
- Create a Spek
- Click the Embed icon </>
- Paste the iframe embed code
- Hit Enter
- Click Save
How to add a Mail To a Hyperlink in a Spek
To add a Mail To as a Hyperlink in a Spek, follow these steps:
1.) Click the hyperlink icon.
2.) Add the desired text.
3.) Enter the email address.
4.) Click the blue Add Link button.
