ℹ️ AI Role Play is a paid add-on and has to be enabled for your organization. It runs on credits, 1 per user per calendar month. To check what you have, or to add credits, contact your Customer Success Manager or email support@spekit.co.
1. Access and setup
Getting to a role play in the first place.

| What uses a credit? | The first time a person creates, edits, or practices a role play in a calendar month. Everything else that month is free |
| Do credits reset each month? | No. Credits don't reset automatically. They draw down from your plan total until more are added |
| Where do admins check credit usage? | Spekit settings, under Plan, on the AI Roleplay Usage card |
💡 Pro Tip: If a role play will not start, check your microphone permission before anything else. It causes more failed starts than every other reason combined.
2. Taking a role play
What reps can do during a session, and what happens if something goes wrong.

| How many times can I retry? | As many times as you need |
| Can I pause? | Yes. Pause stops the timer and shows a paused screen |
| What if my room is loud? | Turn on noisy mode. The AI buyer then only listens while you hold the button |
| Is there a time limit? | Yes. Whoever built the role play sets it, between 1 and 59 minutes. The default is 20 |
| What happens if I end early? | A session must run at least 30 seconds. End sooner and it is recorded as No score and has to be redone |
| Why does my attempt say No score? | It ended before it could be scored, usually because it was too short or you exited before the analysis was ready |
| What languages are supported? | 30+ languages. The conversation, the analysis and your email notifications all run in the language you pick |
| Can I practice an English scenario in my own language? | Yes, if your admin turned on the language options. You choose your practice language when you start |
3. Scoring
How a score is built, and what to do if it looks wrong.

| What score do I need to pass? | Your admin sets it. The default is 80 |
| What does Style measure? | Clarity, pace, filler words, sentence length, and energy |
| What is the target speaking pace? | 140 to 180 words per minute |
| Why is my whole score 0? | You may have missed a Make or Break topic. Missing 1 sets the entire score to 0 |
| I covered a topic but did not get credit | Click Revise on that topic, highlight where you covered it, explain why, and submit. It takes up to 2 business days |
| Can I dispute my Style score? | No. Style is measured from your voice and is not open to revision |
| Can I see the criteria before I start? | That is up to your admin, and we recommend they show you. This is a rehearsal tool, not an exam |
| Can I share my session? | Yes. Turn on Share with others on your own session page |
4. Practice Mode and hints
Only available if your admin turned Practice Mode on.

| How many hints do I get? | Your admin sets it. The default is 5 per session, and each hint shows for 30 seconds |
| Can admins write their own hints? | No. Hints are generated by the AI from the live conversation and the scoring criteria |
| Does a practice attempt complete the Learning Path step? | No. You still have to pass a scored attempt |
5. Building role plays
For admins setting up a role play for the first time.

| How many topics and guidelines should I use? | Up to 10 topics, each with 3 to 6 guidelines and a maximum of 7. Topic weights must total 100 |
| Why is my role play not visible to reps? | A role play saved as Draft is hidden. Publish it, and check the Learning Path is published and assigned too |
| Does updating a Spek update my role play? | No. Source content is only used when the role play is built. Use Edit with AI to add new information |
| Where should the role play sit in the Path? | After the learning material. Placed first it measures instinct. Placed last it measures readiness |
💡 Pro Tip: Build 1 role play well and pilot it before building 5. The first one teaches you what your scoring criteria actually reward, and that lesson applies to everything you build afterwards.
6. Results and reporting
Where results show up and who can see them.
