An AI Role Play is a live spoken conversation with an AI buyer, inside a Learning Path. You speak out loud, you get scored, and you can practice again until you pass.
ℹ️ Role plays run in Spekit Hub (Web App). You need a working microphone and camera.
1. Start a role play
- Open the Learning Path you were assigned.
- Select the role play in the content list. It is marked To Do.
- Click Start Role Play.
The AI trainer sets the scene, then your AI buyer opens the conversation. Start speaking as you would on a real call.
ℹ️ If your admin turned on Practice Mode, you choose between a Practice attempt and a Scored attempt each time you start. See section 9.
2. Controls during the conversation
The controls sit along the bottom of the session.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Timer | Shows your time against the limit, for example 00:07 / 20:00 |
| View toggles | Switch between grid and picture-in-picture |
| Noisy mode | For loud rooms. The AI buyer only listens while you hold the button |
| Pause | Stops the timer |
| Restart | Starts the conversation again from the beginning |
| Fullscreen | Expands the session |
| End role-play | Ends the conversation and sends it for scoring |
💡 Pro Tip: The timer counts towards a limit set by whoever built the role play. If you are running long, move to your close rather than being cut off mid sentence.
3. Ending the conversation
Click End role-play when you have covered what you wanted to cover.
⚠️ A session must run for at least 30 seconds. End sooner and you are told the session was too short, with the choice of End training or Retry. A session that ends too early is recorded as No score.
4. Your attempts
Back in the Learning Path, you see every attempt, newest first, each with its score and date.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| A score | The attempt was scored. View analysis opens the detail |
| No score | The attempt ended before it could be scored, usually because it was too short |
| A yellow banner | You did not pass last time. The role play stays To Do |
| Practice again | Starts a new attempt |
The role play only completes when you pass. There is no way to mark it complete yourself.
5. Reading your score
The analysis page opens with the headline result.
| Item | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Persona and Task | Who you spoke to, and which role play |
| Date | When you took the attempt |
| Top Insights | A one line read on the attempt |
| Score and Pass score | Your result against the bar you need to clear |
| AI Trainer Feedback | Written feedback on what worked and what did not |
| Recording | Your session, with a timeline showing when you spoke, when the buyer spoke, and which topics were covered |
| Download PDF | Saves the analysis |
| Practice again | Starts a new attempt |
Your score has 2 parts. Knowledge is 70% of the total and Style is 30%.
💡 Pro Tip: Click a topic in the timeline to jump straight to that moment in the recording. It is faster than watching the whole session again.
6. Knowledge score
Knowledge is what you said. Each scored topic shows its own score, a timestamp, and written feedback explaining what was missing.
Use Show more to read the full feedback on a topic.
7. Style score
Style is how you said it, measured from your audio and transcript.
| Metric | Target | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Pace | 140 to 180 words per minute | Faster is hard to follow. Slower loses attention. You also get a link to the moment you spoke fastest |
| Clarity | Higher is better | How easily your message can be understood |
| Sentence length | 7 to 30 words | Under 6 words is flagged as too short. Over 43 is flagged as too long |
| Filler words | Fewer is better | Counts "um", "you know", "like" and similar |
| Energy | Low to High | How confident you sound, from your volume and pitch variation |
💡 Pro Tip: Style is only 30% of your score. If you are not passing, the Knowledge breakdown is almost always where the points are.
8. Practice attempts and hints
If your admin turned on Practice Mode, you can rehearse before you take a scored attempt.
| Practice attempt | Scored attempt |
|---|---|
| Full written feedback, no score | A score, measured against the passing score |
| Hints available during the conversation | No hints |
| Repeat as many times as you like | Repeat as many times as you like |
| Does not count towards your results or completion | Completes the Learning Path step when you pass |
During a practice attempt, click Get Hint for guidance based on what you have said so far. Each hint stays on screen for 30 seconds, and the number you can use in 1 attempt is set by whoever built the role play. The default is 5.
💡 Pro Tip: Use practice attempts to find out where you lose points, then take the scored attempt. A practice attempt can never complete the step, so do not stop there.
9. Ask for a topic to be reviewed
If you covered a topic but did not get credit for it, you can ask the AI to look at it again.
- Find the topic in the Knowledge breakdown and click Revise.
- If the transcript contains what you said, highlight the relevant text. Got the wrong lines? Click clear formatting to start again.
- In the box labeled "Describe why you think you were scored wrong", explain why that text answers the topic.
- If the transcript does not contain it, still write your explanation, then choose My answer is not shown in the transcript.
- Click Submit Revision.
| Good to know | Detail |
|---|---|
| How long it takes | Up to 2 business days. The topic shows Pending revision while it processes |
| What a revision does | Adds your information so the AI can re-analyze the topic. It does not change the raw score directly |
| Whose score you can revise | Your own only. Managers cannot submit one for you |
| What cannot be revised | Style metrics. Pace, clarity, sentence length and filler words are measured from your voice and are not open to revision |
💡 Pro Tip: Highlighting the exact lines works far better than a written explanation alone. Point at the words first, then say why they count.
