Once you've built your first piece of deal room content, these are the features that separate a quick first draft from something that looks polished and is genuinely fast to maintain. This article goes deep on every shortcut and editor trick worth knowing.
The four typing shortcuts, in depth
These all work the same way: type the trigger character while your cursor is in the editor, and a picker pops up. No mouse required.
| Type this | What it does |
|---|---|
/ | Opens a picklist of components/sections to insert — works in the regular editor and inside the AI Content Builder |
@ + search text | Finds content and embeds/nests it inline — full content, not just a link |
@Logo | Inserts your company logo, left-aligned |
# + first 3 letters | Finds content and inserts a link to it — Speks in purple, synced assets in pink, opens in Sidekick on click |
: | Opens the emoji picker |
/google + query + prompt | Runs a live web search and generates content from it in one step |
/ — pull up components and toolbar actions
Type / anywhere in the editor and a picklist of components appears — headings, cards, tables, dividers, embeds, and more — so you can insert them without reaching for the top toolbar. This is the fastest way to add structure to a page while you're mid-sentence.
Inside the AI Content Builder specifically, / does the same job for AI-generated components: instead of clicking through the top menu to add a new section or element, hit / to pull up the picklist and insert it directly into your draft.
@ — find and embed or nest content
Type @ and start typing to search across your company's Speks, synced files, and other content. Select a result and it gets embedded or nested directly into what you're building — useful when you want to pull a case study, a product one-pager, or a slide from a previously-built section into a new page without rebuilding it.
The search behind @ (and #, below) returns up to 15 matching results, so if what you're looking for doesn't show up in the first few, keep scrolling rather than assuming it's not there.
@Logo — insert your company logo
Typing @Logo inserts your organization's logo image directly into the content, left-aligned. This is the fastest way to brand a page header or a deal room cover without hunting down a logo file and uploading it yourself.
: — add emojis
Type : to pull up an emoji picker and drop one in inline — handy for headers, callouts, or just making a section easier to scan at a glance.
Using /google in AI Content Builder for outside knowledge
If you need to bring in information Spekit doesn't already have — public details about a prospect's company, industry context, recent news — type /google followed by your search query and your prompt, all in one action. The builder runs the search and generates content from it in a single step, and you can combine it with attached sources (for example, /google plus a Gong call) so it draws from both at once.
Reusable refinement prompts
Keep these handy — they work on almost anything you're polishing:
"Keep everything the same, but simplify it." "Make this easier to scan for a busy reader." "Improve mobile readability." "Reduce text and increase spacing." "Group related content more clearly." "Turn the second section into a card grid so it's easier to scan." "Shorten the intro to two sentences and make the tone more direct for an executive audience."Shortcut cheat sheet
