[Rep Guide] Create content from a call transcript or notes

Your customer calls are packed with deal-specific context. Drop a transcript or your rough notes into the AI Content Builder, and get back a structured, on-brand executive summary, proposal, or mutual action plan in seconds. This guide covers both paths, from a Gong call and from notes you paste in.

ℹ️ This works with or without Gong. With Gong, pull a call directly. Without it, upload a transcript or paste your notes. To learn the editor first, see Create content from scratch.

Good use cases

Call content works well for a few common pieces.

Piece What it does
Executive summary or business case Summarizes key priorities and pain points, and updates after every call.
Mutual action plan Turns discussed next steps into a timeline with clear owners.
Follow-up one-pager Addresses specific prospect concerns in their own words, and pulls in product or competitive info from your Spekit hub.

Step 1: Generate from a transcript

  1. Open or create a Deal Room.
  2. Click + Content or + Add content, then Start from scratch or Select a template (for example, Executive Summary or Mutual Action Plan).
  3. In the AI Content Builder, go to Add context sources and choose Transcripts. Add a Gong call if Gong is connected, or click Upload transcript to add a .txt file manually.
  4. Add a prompt telling the builder what to focus on, for example "Summarize key pain points and next steps from this call."
  5. Generate, make quick inline edits, and your content is ready.

💡 Pro Tip: No Gong? The Upload transcript option lets you add a .txt transcript by hand, so you still get call-based content without the integration.

Step 2: Generate from notes

If you do not have a transcript, your rough notes work too.

  1. Paste your raw call notes into the editor. The editor usually holds more text than the prompt box.
  2. Add a prompt telling the builder what to focus on, for example "Turn these rough notes into an executive summary."
  3. Generate, make quick edits, and your content is ready.

💡 Pro Tip: You can combine notes with a web source. Add a Web source in Add context sources to pull in public info about the prospect's company alongside your notes.

Best practices

Best practice Why it helps
Be specific in your prompt "Create an executive summary for a CFO focusing on ROI and timeline" beats "summarize."
Attach a Spek as a source Reference a competitor overview or product one-pager so the draft uses your approved content.
Use @ and / shortcuts Embed content or add your logo right in the editor. See AI Content Builder shortcuts and power features.
Iterate with follow-ups "Shorten the intro" or "make the tone more professional" quickly perfects the draft.
