1. What Is Content Customization?
Content customization in Spekit is designed for Viewer-level users—like sales reps, CSMs, and support teams—who need to customize documents on the fly, without changing the original file.
With a single click, you can generate your own editable copy of a file—Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide, or a Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or Excel document—from a Spek. Then, with the Spekit Chrome Extension, you can add your customized version directly to a Deal Room—so everything stays in one place and your team can track what's being shared and viewed.
2. What You Can Do with Customized Content
- Customize Instantly: Generate your own editable copy of a file with a single click, eliminating the need to request permissions or duplicate work.
- Share Seamlessly: Add your customized files directly to Deal Rooms from your Google or Microsoft apps to keep your content and the buyer experience centralized.
- Track What Matters: See which customized files are being used and viewed in Deal Rooms to better understand what's resonating with buyers.
- Maintain Governance: Your edits never change the original file, which remains managed and controlled by your team admins.

4. Understanding the Buttons in Your Apps
The Spekit Chrome Extension adds helpful buttons directly into your apps. Here's what each one does:
Add to Deal Room
You'll see this button on a file that you can add to a Deal Room. This will appear on any Google or SharePoint file that you have "download and copy" permissions for, or on a file that an admin has already synced to Spekit.
Synced to Deal Room
This button appears when you're viewing a file in Google Drive or SharePoint that has already been added to a Spekit Deal Room. Clicking it will open the Deal Room directly.
Add to Spekit (Google only)
Use this button to instantly sync content from Google Drive into Spekit. This is helpful for quickly capturing new content that hasn't been added to Spekit yet.
View in Spekit (Google only)
This button appears when you're looking at a file that's already synced to Spekit. Clicking it opens the content in Spekit, where you can review details, update settings, or make edits as needed.
