When you open the extension, youâll see the main navigation at the top:

Search your entire library directly from the sidebar, no matter which browser tab you're currently in.
- Enter a keyword, process name, or specific term.
- Filter results by content type (Speks, Files, Topics, Deal Rooms, Spotlights, Knowledge Checks, Seismic).
- Content Gap Tool: Toggle on "Only show empty Speks" to surface placeholder Speks that need documentation.
2. Sidekick (Home)
Your personalized, AI-powered assistant that delivers instant answers, recommendations, and real-time guidance.
- Website-specific Topics: Automatically displays Topics related to the specific webpage youâre on.
- Gong Call Insights: Dynamically surfaces Call Recaps, Key Points, and Next Steps for up to three recent external calls (with a direct link to the recording).
- AI Content Recommendations: Intelligent suggestions based on browsing activity to guide your next steps.
3. Team Hub
The central shared library for your entire organization.
Explore existing content by searching for specific Topics or browsing through categorized materials. This empowers everyone to find the Speks, files, or training resources they need in one organized space.
4. My Hub
Your personal workspace for quick access to key tools tailored just for you.
- Favorites: View all the Speks and Files youâve saved.
- Trackable Links: Manage and share content via tracking links.
- Assigned to Me: Access assigned Learning Paths and Knowledge Checks.
- Deal Rooms: Manage existing rooms or create new ones to collaborate with external stakeholders.
5. + New
Your launchpad to create and manage new resources.
- Speks: Bite-sized knowledge guides.
- Topics: Group related content together.
- Files: Direct uploads or synced folders.

- Spek Updates: See who updated a Spek, when, and read the version history.

- Note: Alerts remain unread until you click or interact with them.

2. Navigating a Spek in the Chrome Extension
When you open a Spek in the Chrome Extension, youâll have several options to help you quickly consume, share, and manage knowledge.
- Favorite: Save a Spek for later by clicking the â icon. Favorited Speks are easy to find anytime in your My Favorites section.

Share: Share content with ease:
- Send to other Spekit users
- Generate a trackable link for external sharing (if enabled)
- Add the Spek directly to a Deal Room

Copy to Clipboard: Copy the full Spek contentâincluding text, images, and videos.
- Click the copy icon
- Paste it anywhere using Ctrl/Cmd + V
Great for reusing templates or snippets quickly.

Expand: Pop the extension out into a separate window.
- View Spekit side-by-side with your workflow
- Avoid blocking fields or buttons
- Follow steps more easily while working

- Edit: Update the Spek (if you have permission)
- Clone: Duplicate the Spek to reuse or customize
- Content Type: See what kind of content youâre viewingâsuch as a Spek, file (PDF, XLSX), or synced document.
- External Sharing Indicator: A globe icon shows if the Spek can be shared externally via Trackable Links.
- Expert: View the assigned Expert responsible for the contentâs accuracy. Reach out to them if something looks outdated.
- Last Updated: See who last edited the Spek and when it was updated.

3. Navigating a File in the Chrome Extension
When you open a File in the Chrome Extension, youâll have several options to help you quickly consume, share, and manage content.
- Favorite: Click the star icon to add the File to your Favorites, making it easy to access later from the Chrome Extension.

Share: Share Files in multiple ways:
- Send to other Spekit users
- Generate a trackable link for external sharing (if enabled)
- Add directly to a Deal Room
- Create Copy in Connected Source: Create a customizable copy of the file in a connected source such as Google Drive or SharePoint. This allows you to edit and tailor the content directly in its original system.
- Download: Click the download icon to save a copy of the file directly to your device.
- Force Sync File from Source (Admins only): Admins can manually sync a file from its original source (such as Google Drive) to ensure the latest version is reflected in Spekit.
- View File in Source: Open the original file in its source platform to view or make more advanced edits.

- Externally Shareable: A globe icon appears if the File can be shared externally via a Trackable Link.
- Expert: View the assigned Expert responsible for maintaining the contentâs accuracy. Reach out to them if anything looks outdated.
- Last Updated: See who last edited the file and when it was updated.

4. How to enable or disable Spek icons
Control whether Spek icons appear on supported pages.
- Open the Spekit Chrome Extension sidebar.
- Click the ellipsis (âŚ) at the top of the extension, and select Settings.
- Toggle Display Spek Icons on or off.
5. How to hide the sidebar dock
Remove the Dock from view when you donât need it.
- Open the Spekit Chrome Extension sidebar.
- Click the ellipsis (âŚ) at the top of the extension, and select Settings.
- Toggle off Show Sidebar Dock.
6. How to Change How Speks Display (Click or Hover)
Customize how you interact with Speks on a page.
- Open the Spekit Chrome Extension sidebar.
- Click the ellipsis (âŚ) at the top of the extension, and select Settings.
- Under Open Spek Icons On, choose Click or Hover from the dropdown.
