Spekit User Roles & Capabilities
Spekit utilizes four distinct user roles. Understanding these roles helps ensure the right level of access and security for your organization.
1. Viewer
The Viewer role is designed for end-users who need access to the knowledge and resources documented in Spekit without the ability to modify source content. This role is ideal for teams who rely on consuming and interacting with curated knowledge to enhance their workflows.
- Access Permissions: View-only access to Speks, Topics, and Files.
- Interactive Features: Can provide feedback (Thumbs Up/Down) and submit "Ask an Expert" requests.
- Deal Room Exception: Viewers can create content (Speks/File Customizations) specifically within Deal Rooms they own.
Target Persona: Sales Reps, Customer Success Managers, Support Agents.
2. Expert
The Expert role is designed for team members responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining content. Experts play a crucial role in ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to their teams' needs.
- Content Management: Can create, edit, and archive content (Speks, Spotlights, Knowledge Checks) within the specific Topics or Teams they are assigned to.
- Collaboration: Can collaborate with Admins and other Experts to refine content strategies and review analytics for their specific content.
- Viewer Inheritance: Experts inherit all Viewer capabilities.
Use Case Example: A BDR Team Lead assigned as an Expert for the "BDR Onboarding" Topic can create resources and refine existing Speks without needing full administrative access to the entire platform.
3. Team Admin
The Team Admin role is tailored for individuals responsible for managing both content and team members within their assigned teams. This role provides robust permissions to oversee knowledge-sharing initiatives and ensure team alignment.
- User Management: Authority to manage users within their teams, including inviting new members and assigning roles.
- Team Oversight: Can monitor and refine content to ensure it meets the needs of their users.
- Expert Inheritance: Inherits all Expert permissions for content creation.
Use Case Example: A Sales Enablement Manager designated as a Team Admin can curate tailored sales content, onboard new team members by managing invites, and adjust permissions for their specific region.
4. Account Admin
The Account Admin role offers unrestricted access to all content and administrative functionalities. This role enables complete oversight, integration management, and customization to align Spekit with organizational needs.
- Full Governance: Unrestricted visibility and editing rights across all content.
- Platform Management: Control application integrations (Salesforce, Slack, etc.), SSO settings, and Custom Fields.
- Billing & Analytics: Access comprehensive analytics for the entire organization and manage license information.
Use Case Example: An IT Manager or RevOps Leader serving as an Account Admin can integrate Spekit with the company's Salesforce instance, set up global security policies, and analyze cross-departmental engagement data.
