ℹ️ Governance note: Syncing Google Drive files into shared Team Hub Topics requires Account Admin, Team Admin, or Expert access. This does not apply to Deal Rooms, where any user can sync Google Drive files into their own Deal Rooms.
1. What the Google Drive integration does
The Google Drive integration connects your Google Drive account to Spekit, so the files your team relies on stay current in Spekit without manual re-uploads. Sync a file once, and Spekit keeps it up to date as it changes in Drive.
Synced content is more than stored, it is surfaced. Files you sync are searchable in Spekit and served up by the Spekit AI Sidekick in the flow of work, so your team finds the right deck, guide, or template without switching tools.

2. What you can sync
Syncing is always selective. Your whole Drive does not come across. You choose the specific files to sync, and only what you sync appears in Spekit.
Supported file types: Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides, plus PDF, PPTX, DOCX, and XLSX.
3. Who can sync, and where
Access depends on where the content is going: shared Team Hub Topics, or a user's own Deal Room.

Each person who syncs connects their own Google Drive account, including reps who sync into their Deal Rooms. Connecting your account does not give anyone else access to your files, and it does not let others import from it.
4. How synced content behaves
Once a file is synced, a few consistent rules apply.

| Easy to identify | Synced files show a Google Drive source icon and a Go to Source button that opens the original. |
| Permission-aware | A user can access synced content in Spekit, but cannot open the original file unless they also have permission in Google Drive. |
| Source file deleted | The file drops out of Spekit after the next sync. |
| Source file moved | The file stays available, and the Go to Source button updates automatically. |
| Account disconnected | Content already imported stays in Spekit, but future changes stop syncing. Other connected accounts keep working. |
ℹ️ Viewing note: Google files display in Spekit using Google's native viewer, which keeps formatting accurate.
