[Admin Guide] Connect Google Drive

Before your team can sync Google Drive files, an Account Admin needs to connect a Google Drive account to Spekit. This is a one-time setup per account. This guide covers who can connect, the two ways to connect, connecting more than one account, and how to disconnect.

ℹ️ Who can connect: The + Add New method is available to Experts, Team Admins, and Account Admins. The Settings method is available to Account Admins only.

1. Before you connect

You need a Google account with access to the Google Drive content you want to sync. Permissions are granted at connection time, in the Google pop-up.

You do not need to move files first. You can sync from any Shared Drive or from My Drive once connected.

2. Connect with + Add New

Available to Experts, Team Admins, and Account Admins.

  1. Open the Spekit Hub (Web App).
  2. Click the Team Hub button, then click + Add New.
  3. Select File Sync.
  4. Click Connect Google Drive.
  5. In the pop-up, connect your Google Drive account to Spekit.
  6. Once connected, you can select the files to sync.

3. Connect from Settings

Available to Account Admins only.

  1. Open the Spekit Hub (Web App).
  2. Click Settings (the gear icon).
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Click Connect Google Drive.
  5. In the pop-up, connect your Google Drive account to Spekit.

4. Connect more than one account

You can connect multiple Google Drive accounts. Any Shared Drive accessible from a connected account is available to sync.

💡 Pro Tip: Connect more than one Admin or Expert account from the start. Syncing keeps working even if one person disconnects or leaves, so a core deck never goes stale because a single connection dropped.

5. How to disconnect

There are two ways to disconnect. Content already imported stays in Spekit, but future changes will not sync, and other connected accounts keep working.

Option 1: From the File Sync modal (Experts, Team Admins, and Account Admins)

  1. Open the Spekit Hub (Web App).
  2. Click the Team Hub button, then click + Add New.
  3. Select File Sync.
  4. Click Disconnect.
  5. In the confirmation pop-up, click Yes, disconnect.

Option 2: From Settings (Account Admins only)

  1. Open the Spekit Hub (Web App).
  2. Click Settings (the gear icon).
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Click Disconnect.
