What are the system requirements for the integrations?
Before setting up your Spekit integrations with SharePoint or Google Drive, ensure your accounts meet the system requirements.
- SharePoint Integration: Requires SharePoint Online and a Microsoft 365 Business or Enterprise license.
- Google Drive Integration: Compatible with any Google Workspace (G Suite) account.
Who can connect to Google Drive and sync content?
Spekit Account Admins, Team Admins, and Experts can connect and sync content.
Will my entire Google Drive or SharePoint sync automatically?
No. After setting up the connection, you’ll select specific files or folders to sync into Spekit. Only the content explicitly synced by an Admin or Expert will be accessible in Spekit—ensuring that your system and users have access only to the files you choose to share.
Can other Admins or Experts import content from my connected Google Drive or SharePoint?
No. Each Admin or Expert must connect their own Google or SharePoint account to import and sync files into Spekit.
What file types can be synced with Spekit?
Spekit supports a variety of file types to ensure your team has easy access to the resources they need. Here's a breakdown of what you can sync:
- Google Drive:
- Google Docs
- Google Sheets
- Google Slides
- PDFs
- PowerPoint files (PPTx)
- Word documents (Docx)
- Excel spreadsheets (XLSx)
- SharePoint:
- PDFs
- PowerPoint files (PPTx)
- Word documents (Docx)
- Excel spreadsheets (XLSx)
How can I identify synced content?
Synced files in Spekit will display a small icon to indicate their source, and a ‘Go to Source’ button for easy navigation to the original document.
What happens if a user doesn’t have permission to view the source content?
Users can view the content synced into Spekit, but they won’t be able to access the original source file via the "Go to Source" button if they don’t have the necessary permissions.
Will updates to source files be reflected in Spekit?
Yes! Spekit automatically updates synced content within a few hours of changes made to the source file. If updates don’t appear as expected, users can manually refresh by using the Force Sync option in Spekit.
What happens if I disconnect my account?
If you disconnect your Google Drive or SharePoint account, the previously imported content will remain in Spekit. However, any future changes to the source files will not sync. If other team members have connected their accounts and Spekit has access to those files, syncing will continue without interruption.
What happens if a file is deleted or moved in SharePoint or Google Drive?
- Deleted files: The file will no longer appear in Spekit after the next sync.
- Moved files: The file will remain accessible in Spekit, and the system will automatically update the file’s location to ensure the "Go to Source" button continues to work.
