File Uploads & Storage
Who has permission to upload Files into Spekit?
Only Admins and Experts have permission to upload and manage Files, consistent with the permissions for creating Speks.
What types of files can I upload and share?
Currently, Spekit supports the upload of the following file types:
- PDFs
- PPTXs (PowerPoint)
- DOCXs (Word)
- XLSXs (Excel)
Support for additional file types will be introduced in the future.
What is the maximum file size for uploads?
Only files that are 500 MB or less can be uploaded to Spekit.
Where are the documents I upload to Spekit stored?
All uploaded Files are securely stored and hosted directly within Spekit.
What is my File storage limit?
Your specific storage limit was shared via email when this functionality was activated for your organization. For any questions, please contact your Customer Success Manager or email support@spekit.co.
Organization & Visibility
Can a Topic have a mix of Files and Speks?
✅ Yes.Topics can contain a mix of both Speks and Files, which allows for better organization when grouping related resources.
Can I search for a File?
✅ Yes.Use the Search bar to find any File you have access to. Here's how:
1.) Enter the File name in the Search bar.
2.) Click the Files tab in the results.
3.) Select the File you're looking for.
NOTE: Spekit also searches the content within Files to help you locate what you need!
Can users be prevented from downloading content in Spekit?
❌ No. Currently, it is not possible to restrict Spekit users from downloading content. All users have the ability to download content by default.
What is Must-See Content and how does it work for files?
Marking content as Must-See prioritizes it, ensuring users engage with key resources. If a File is marked as Must-See, it will appear on the Spekit Web App homepage, making it easily accessible.
Custom Fields
Who can see Custom Field values?
Internal viewers within your organization can view the Custom Field data. External Viewers (prospects, customers) are not able to view this data at this time.
How are Custom Fields ordered?
Custom Fields in Spekit are currently organized in alphabetical order. The order cannot be changed or customized at this time.
