Learn how to manage Spotlights and all the features available. You must have Account Admin, Team Space Admin, or Expert access to manage Spotlights.
How to search for a Spotlight
1.) In the Web App or Extension locate the search field and click into the search bar.
2.) Enter relevant keyword(s) to search for the Spotlight.
3.) Click the magnifying glass icon to perform a search.
4.) Select the Spotlights tab to filter by Spotlights.
How to Filter Spotlights
In the Spotlights tab, you can Filter by Content and Targeting.
- Content
- Linked to External URL (Type to Search)
- Linked to Spek (Type to Search)
- Linked to Topic (Type to Search)
- Published Timeframe (Date Range)
- Status (Published, Draft, or Expired)
- Creator (Type to Search)
- Last Modified Date (Date Range)
- Targeting
- Teams Targeting
- Targeted URL
Instructions for the Spekit Web App
1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Click Wiki.
3.) Click Spotlights.
4.) Set the Spotlight Filter criteria.
5.) Click the Apply Filters button.
How to sort Spotlights
1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Click Wiki.
3.) Click Spotlights.
4.) Click to select the desired sort order.
How to Preview Spotlights
Preview Spotlights While Creating
A preview of the Spotlight will automatically generate on the right side of the Spotlight creation pop-up. This preview will instantly update as you edit.
Preview Spotlights After Publication

1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Click Wiki.
3.) Click Spotlights.
4.) Click the gray box ellipsis [...] at the right-hand side of the Spotlight.
5.) Click Preview.
Instructions for the Spekit Chrome Extension
1.) Open the Spekit Chrome Extension sidebar.
2.) Enter relevant keyword(s) to search for the Spotlight.
3.) Click the magnifying glass icon to perform a search.
4.) Select the Spotlights tab to filter by Spotlights.
5.) Click the gray box ellipsis [...] at the right-hand side of the Spotlight.
6.) Click Preview.
How to edit a published Spotlight

5.) Click Preview.
6.) Click Edit.
Instructions for the Spekit Chrome Extension
1.) Open the Spekit Chrome Extension sidebar.
2.) Enter relevant keyword(s) to search for the Spotlight.
3.) Click the magnifying glass icon to perform a search.
4.) Select the Spotlights tab to filter by Spotlights.
5.) Click on the Spotlight you would like to edit. The Spotlight module will pop up.
6.) Click Edit.
How to clone a Spotlight
Instructions for the Spekit Web App
1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Click Wiki.
3.) Click Spotlights.
4.) Click the gray box ellipsis [...] at the right-hand side of the Spotlight.
5.) Click Clone.
6.) Rename the Spotlight according to your requirement.
7.) Click Publish.
Instructions for the Spekit Chrome Extension:
1.) Open the Spekit Chrome Extension sidebar.
2.) Enter relevant keyword(s) to search for the Spotlight.
3.) Click the magnifying glass icon to perform a search.
4.) Select the Spotlights tab to filter by Spotlights.
5.) Click on the Spotlight you would like to clone. The Spotlight module will pop up.
6.) Click Clone.
7.) Click Edit. Adjust the settings and name of the Spotlight according to your requirements.
8.) Click Publish.
How to test a Spotlight
To test the Spotlight, follow these directions:
1.) Add yourself to the team(s) targeted by your audience rules (set in the spotlight), OR if you are an Account Admin try Audience > Team = Spekit Account Admins.
2.) Publish and go to the page where you expect it to appear.
Once you have confirmed the conditions are all set:

5.) Click Publish.

4.) Select the Spotlights tab to filter by Spotlights.
5.) Click on the Spotlight you would like to test. The Spotlight module will pop up.
6.) Click Publish.
How to access snoozed or previously reviewed Spotlights
Users can access snoozed or previously reviewed Spotlights directly from the notification center. As long as the Spotlight hasn’t expired, you’ll be able to bring up the Spotlight by clicking on the notification.
Instructions for the Spekit Web App
1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Click the Notification Bell.
3.) Click on the Spotlight you would like to view.
4.) The Spotlight will pop up.
NOTE: If the Spotlight has expired, you’ll still be able to see the old notification, but you won’t be able to open the Spotlight.

1.) Open the Spekit Chrome Extension sidebar.
2.) Click the Notification Bell.
3.) Click on the Spotlight you would like to view.
4.) The Spotlight will pop up.
NOTE: If the Spotlight has expired, you’ll still be able to see the old notification, but you won’t be able to open the Spotlight.
