Who can assign a Topic?
Any Admin within a specific team can assign a Topic. Admins can also create and assign Topics for the Teams they are designated as an Admin or Expert.
If a Team Admin/Expert creates a Topic in Team A, can they add it to Team B?
Yes, as long as the Admin or Expert has permissions in both Team A and Team B, they can assign the Topic to Team B as well.
If there are multiple Admins and every Admin has created their Topics - can all Admins see all Topics?
No, Admins can only see the Topics assigned to their respective Teams. However, Account Admins have visibility across all Topics and can reassign a Topic from one Team to another if needed.
Spekit Roles - Account Admin vs. Team Admin:
- Account Admin: Has full access to all Topics and content across all Teams and can perform all actions in Spekit.
- Team Admin: Manages content and users only within the specific Teams they are assigned to.
What is the ideal image size for a Topic image (icon)?
The recommended size for a Topic icon is 126 x 126 pixels in PNG format.
What permissions are required to edit Topic Mapping?
Only Admins or Team Experts with permission to edit Topics can modify Topic Mapping. If a Topic is restricted to specific Teams, only Admins or Experts from those Teams can edit it.
Can a Topic be assigned to multiple domains or URLs?
Yes! You can assign a Topic to multiple domains or URLs using the Add More option in the Topic settings. This ensures the Topic and its related Speks appear in all the relevant locations.
What happens if two Topics are mapped to the same domain or URL?
If two Topics are mapped to the same domain or URL:
- Both Topics will appear in the Spekit Chrome Extension Sidebar.
- Only the Topic with matching Speks for anchor terms on the page will display embedded Speks.
- This setup avoids confusion while ensuring both Topics remain accessible.
Can I delete a Topic?
Yes, but only Account Admins can delete a Topic. If a Topic is removed, any content within it will remain intact but will no longer be grouped under that Topic.
What happens if I remove a Team from a Topic?
Removing a Team from a Topic means its members will no longer see that Topic or any content associated with it—unless those Speks belong to another Topic they still have access to.
