1. How to Understand Topics and Sub-Topics
Understand the hierarchical relationship between primary Topics and nested content layers to build a logical folder-like system.
| The Logic | Topics: Act as primary containers for Speks, synced files, and uploaded files. |
| Sub-Topics: Existing Topics that are linked to a Parent Topic to create a hierarchy. | |
| Content Integrity: Information remains unchanged even when mapped to multiple hierarchical levels. | |
| The Structure | Nesting Depth: There is no limit to nesting levels, though keeping it simple aids navigation. |
| Categorization: Effective hierarchy prevents clutter and eliminates content redundancy. | |
| Visibility: Access to any specific level is strictly governed by Team permissions. |
2. The Setup Workflow
Follow these simple administrative steps to build or modify your content relationships within the Spekit Web App.
➕ Creating a Sub-Topic

5. Managing Roles & Permissions
Learn how permissions govern visibility and administrative control across your content hierarchy.
| User Role | Hierarchical Capabilities |
|---|---|
| Admins & Experts | Create, edit, reorder, and delete Topics & Sub-Topics. Associate content with any level and manage granular Team access. |
| Viewers | View and search Topics/Sub-Topics. Navigate and interact with the folder-like hierarchy to consume content based on their granted permissions. |
🚨 IMPORTANT: Access is assigned at the individual Topic level. Being able to view a Parent Topic does not automatically grant access to its Sub-Topics. You must assign Teams explicitly to each sub-level.
