What happens immediately when a Spotlight is published?
Once published, your Spotlight will appear for users based on the audience and URL targeting rules you set. It may take up to 10 minutes to become visible to all users. The Spotlight status will change from Draft to Published.
Can I control how often a Spotlight appears?
❌ No. Spotlights are limited to appearing a maximum of once per day for repeat viewers. Republishing a Spotlight will not force it to reappear for users who have
What is the ideal image size for Spotlights?
For best results, use an image sized 800 × 450 px (16:9 aspect ratio). The maximum file size is 5MB.
User Interaction & Timing
What does “Show me later” do?
When a user selects Show me later, the Spotlight is dismissed and will automatically reappear after 24 hours. It will continue to reappear once per day until it expires or the user clicks the action button.
How many times can a user select “Show me later”?
Users can select Show me later once per day, an unlimited number of times, until they engage with the Spotlight or it expires. This behavior is tracked in the analytics dashboard.
What happens if a user doesn’t interact with a Spotlight?
If no action is taken, the Spotlight remains on the page. If the user closes the browser tab, the Spotlight will reappear the next time they visit the same page.
How can users find a dismissed Spotlight?
Users can access dismissed Spotlights from the notification center as long as the Spotlight hasn’t expired. If it has expired, the notification will remain visible, but the content will no longer open.
Editing, Unpublishing & Republishing
What happens if a Spotlight is unpublished?
When a Spotlight is unpublished, it immediately disappears for most users. Any users who are actively viewing it at that time can finish their session, and their engagement will still be recorded.
If I unpublish and republish a Spotlight, who sees it?
When a Spotlight is republished, it will only be shown to users who have not previously viewed or engaged with it. This is helpful when issuing a correction or sharing a policy update without re-interrupting users who have already seen the Spotlight.
Why was my Spotlight unpublished when I clicked “Edit”?
To prevent accidental live changes, Spotlights can’t be edited while published. Clicking Edit automatically unpublishes the Spotlight so you can make updates safely. You must republish it for it to go live again.
