[Admin & Rep Guide] SharePoint Overview

Keep your team on the latest content by syncing files and published pages straight from SharePoint into Spekit. Sync content once, and Spekit keeps it current as it changes in SharePoint. Reps always pull the right version, with no manual re-uploads.

ℹ️ Governance note: Syncing SharePoint content into shared Team Hub Topics requires Account Admin, Team Admin, or Expert access. This does not apply to Deal Rooms, where any user can sync SharePoint content into their own Deal Rooms.

1. What the SharePoint integration does

The SharePoint integration connects your organization's SharePoint to Spekit, so the files and pages your team relies on stay current in Spekit without manual re-uploads. Sync content once, and Spekit keeps it up to date as it changes.

Synced content is more than stored, it is surfaced. What you sync is searchable in Spekit and served up by the Spekit AI Sidekick in the flow of work, so your team finds the right deck, doc, or page without switching tools.

Benefit What it means for your team
Real-time syncing Spekit refreshes synced SharePoint content automatically, so reps always see the latest version.
Centralized resources Files and pages live in one place and surface through search and AI Sidekick.
Improved team access Everyone gets quick, organized access to the right content without searching multiple platforms.

2. What you can sync

Syncing is always selective. Your whole SharePoint environment does not come across. You choose the specific files, folders, and published pages to sync, and only what you sync appears in Spekit.

Supported content: PDF, PPTX, DOCX, and XLSX files, plus published SharePoint Pages.

3. Who can sync, and where

Access depends on where the content is going: shared Team Hub Topics, or a user's own Deal Room.

You want to sync into Who can do it
Team Hub Topics Account Admins, Team Admins, and Experts
A Deal Room Any user with access to that Deal Room, within their own Deal Rooms

Each person who syncs connects their own SharePoint account, including reps who sync into their Deal Rooms. Connecting your account does not give anyone else access to your files.

4. How synced content behaves

Once content is synced, a few consistent rules apply.

Behavior What happens
Automatic updates Spekit refreshes synced content from SharePoint within a few hours. Use Force Sync on a file to push an update sooner.
Easy to identify Synced items show a SharePoint source icon and a Go to Source button that opens the original.
Permission-aware A user can access synced content in Spekit, but cannot open the original unless they also have permission in SharePoint.
Updating a file Update a synced file by using Replace in SharePoint, which keeps the same file ID so Spekit updates on its own. See Sync SharePoint Content into Team Hub.
Pages Only published pages sync, and only their major versions. See Sync SharePoint Content into Team Hub.
Source file deleted The file drops out of Spekit after the next sync.
Account disconnected Content already imported stays in Spekit, but future changes stop syncing. Other connected accounts keep working.
