[Rep & Admin Guide] How to Connect & Disconnect Deal Rooms in Slack

Connecting a Spekit Deal Room to a Slack channel ensures your deal team gets notified the moment a prospect engages with your content, no need to log into a separate tool to see who opened what.

  • Flexible Mappings: One Slack channel can connect to multiple deal rooms, and one deal room can connect to multiple Slack channels.

  • Private Channel Compatible: Notifications work seamlessly in private Slack channels, where deal teams usually operate.

How to Connect a Deal Room to a Channel

(Note: The connection is made directly from Slack. You must be a collaborator on the deal room.)

  1. Open the Slack channel where you manage your deal (public or private).

  2. In the main channel text box, type /invite @spekit and press Enter to add the bot. (Do this first! If skipped, Spekit will prompt you to invite the bot before the modal opens.)

  3. In the same channel, type /spekit dealroom and press Enter.

  4. In the modal that opens, select the deal room or rooms you want to connect.

  5. Click Save.

ℹ️ NOTE: The mapping is now live! Views and Opens notifications are enabled by default. The connected channel will now appear in the Slack tab of your deal room settings in the Spekit Hub (Web App).

How to Disconnect a Deal Room Mapping

If a deal closes or you want to stop receiving Deal Room notifications in a channel without kicking out the Spekit bot:

  1. In the Slack channel text box, type /spekit dealroom list and press Enter.

  2. Deselect / uncheck the deal room(s) you want to remove.

  3. Click Save.

Notifications will stop immediately, and the Slack tab in your Spekit Hub (Web App) deal room settings will revert to "Connect."

How to Completely Remove the Spekit Bot from a Channel

If you want to completely remove the Spekit app/bot (@spekit) from a Slack channel:

  1. Open the target Slack channel.

  2. Click the Channel Name or Member Count at the top of the screen to open the channel details window.

  3. Click View all members (or navigate to the Integrations / Apps tab).

  4. Locate Spekit in the list of members/apps.

  5. Click the three dots icon (...) next to Spekit.

  6. Select Remove from channel and confirm.

💡 Pro Tips for Setup

  • Use Private Channels: Map deal rooms to private deal channels rather than large public channels. Notifications contain prospect email addresses, so keep them where your core deal team works.

  • Invite First: Always run /invite @spekit before mapping, or the setup modal will fail to open.

  • Not Responding? If /spekit commands do not respond, run /spekit connect first to authorize your user account, then try again.
