Build a structured, folder-like repository to eliminate clutter and ensure your team can navigate complex knowledge ecosystems with ease.
1. Understanding Topics and Sub-Topics
Understand the hierarchical relationship between primary Topics and nested content layers to build a logical folder-like system.

| Sub-Topics: Existing Topics that are linked to a Parent Topic to create a hierarchy. | |
| Content Integrity: Information remains unchanged even when mapped to multiple hierarchical levels. | |
| The Structure | Nesting Depth: There is no limit to nesting levels, though keeping it simple aids navigation. |
| Categorization: Effective hierarchy prevents clutter and eliminates content redundancy. | |
| Visibility: Access to any specific level is strictly governed by Team permissions. |
2. How to Add a Sub-Topic
Sub-Topics help you organize related information under a parent Topic, keeping your knowledge hierarchy clean and easy to navigate. For Team Admins and Experts, this is the primary way to build and structure new knowledge hubs.
- Click Add New and hover over Sub-Topics.
- Choose either:
- Create New to build a brand-new sub-topic, or
- Add Existing to link one or more existing Topics as sub-topics.
- If creating a new sub-topic, enter the required details:
- Name
- Icon
- Description
- In the Linking section, confirm the parent Topic. This will be pre-populated, but you can add additional parent Topics if needed.
- Select the Teams that should have access to this Topic.
- Click Save.
Your sub-topic will now appear nested under the selected parent Topic(s).

Important: Access is assigned at the individual Topic level. Being able to view a Parent Topic does not automatically grant access to its Sub-Topics. You must assign Teams explicitly to each sub-level.
