Custom Branding controls how the Spekit product looks for your team. Upload your logos and primary color so the Spekit Hub (Web App), Sidekick (Chrome Extension), AI Sidekick, and embedded Speks match your company's look.
ℹ️ Prerequisite: Only Account Admins can change global visual settings. Log in to the Spekit Hub (Web App) before you start.
ℹ️ Custom Branding does not control the branding inside the content you create. Content logos are set in Brand Studio > Logos. See How to Set Up Brand Studio.
1. Which logo goes where
Spekit uses 2 separate logo settings. They are independent. Changing one does not change the other.
| Setting | Where to find it | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| Custom Branding | Admin Tools > Custom branding | The Spekit product: the Hub (Web App), Sidekick (Chrome Extension), AI Sidekick, and embedded Speks |
| Brand Studio logos | Brand Studio > Logos | The content you create, including header components and Deal Room landing pages |
ℹ️ You do not need to do anything. The logos you already uploaded in Custom Branding were copied into Brand Studio before this change went live. Your content will look the same as before. You only need to act if you want your content to use a different logo than your Spekit product.
💡 Pro Tip: Use Custom Branding for your internal look and Brand Studio logos for anything a customer sees.
2. How to set up Custom Branding
Upload your logos and set your primary color in one place. These steps take a few minutes and apply to everyone in your account.
- Open the Spekit Hub (Web App).
- Click the gear icon to open Settings.
- Open the Admin Tools tab and click Custom branding.
- Click the upload icon to add your logos under Full color logos and White logos. SVG is recommended so your logo stays sharp at any size. You can also upload a transparent PNG.
- Select your file and click Open.
- In the Colors section, enter your primary color hex code.
- Click Save changes.
ℹ️ Accessibility standard: Your primary color should meet the WCAG AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against white text, so all users can read it.
💡 Pro Tip: If you do not know your company's hex code, use a free color picker tool to find it.
ℹ️ Full custom branding can take up to 12 hours to display for Viewers. To see it right away, click the Spekit logo in the Sidebar and refresh the browser.
3. Logo sizes and usage
Each logo you upload is used in a different place in the product. Use this table to pick the right file for each slot.
SVG files are recommended. If you upload a raster image instead, use a transparent PNG.
| Logo | Recommended size | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| Full color logotype | At least 1200 x 300 px, wide orientation, roughly 3:1 to 5:1 | Primary navigation of the Hub (Web App) and Sidekick (Chrome Extension) |
| Full color logomark | At least 512 x 512 px, square | Embedded Speks on the page, and the embedded Spek header |
| White logotype | At least 1200 x 300 px, wide orientation | Expanded dock in Sidekick (Chrome Extension) |
| White logomark | At least 512 x 512 px, square | Minimized dock in Sidekick (Chrome Extension) |
4. Revert to Spekit branding
If you want to remove your branding, you can return the product to the default Spekit look at any time. Your uploaded files are removed from the product view.
To reset to the default Spekit visual settings:
- Open the Spekit Hub (Web App).
- Click the gear icon to open Settings.
- Open the Admin Tools tab and click Custom branding.
- Scroll down and click Reset to default.
ℹ️ This resets the Spekit product only. Your Brand Studio logos stay as they are.
5. Troubleshooting
Most branding issues come from caching, file format, or an out of date extension. Work through the table below before contacting support.
| Issue | What to try |
|---|---|
| File will not upload | Check the format. Use SVG, PNG, or JPEG. |
| Changes are not showing | Refresh your browser. If they still do not show, clear your cache, including cached images and files. |
| Sidekick looks unchanged | Your Sidekick (Chrome Extension) may be out of date. It must be version v2024.35.23 or higher. See [how to check and update your extension version]. |
| Color looks wrong | Check buttons, links, and the dock background to confirm where your primary color applies, and confirm it is readable. |
| White logos are hard to see | Check the expanded and minimized dock in Sidekick (Chrome Extension). White logos should stand out against the dock background. |
| Changes did not save | Confirm you have Account Admin rights and that the save completed. |
| Content logo did not change | Content logos come from Brand Studio > Logos, not from Custom Branding. |
| A header says "Logo not configured" | No logo is set in Brand Studio > Logos. Upload one there, then reinsert or refresh the header. |
| Still stuck | Restart your computer, then contact Spekit support. |
