Add Spekit as a custom connector in ChatGPT so your conversations can search your Spekit library and return approved answers, with your existing Spekit permissions applied. On Business, Enterprise, and Education plans you can also create and update Spekit content from the conversation.
ℹ️ ChatGPT requires Developer mode before you can add a custom connector. This is a one-time setting in your own account.
1. What you can do in ChatGPT
Once the connector is on and selected as a source, ChatGPT can reach the same Spekit content you can reach in the web app.

💡 Pro Tip: If you are on Pro and a create request does not go through, that is the plan limit, not a setup problem. Read tools work on Pro; write tools need Business, Enterprise, or Education.
2. Who can use this
Custom MCP connectors are available on ChatGPT Pro, Business, Enterprise, and Education plans.

You also need an active Spekit account and Developer mode turned on.
3. Turn on Developer mode
- Open Settings.
- Go to Connectors, then Advanced settings. Depending on your account, this may appear under Security and login.
- Turn on Developer mode.
4. Add Spekit as a custom connector
- In Settings, then Connectors, select Add custom connector.
- Enter a name, for example Spekit, and the Spekit server URL, including the
/mcppath:
https://mcp.spekit.co/mcp- Create the connection, then review the tools it finds.
- When prompted, sign in with your Spekit credentials to authorize.
5. Use it in a conversation
Select the Spekit connector as a source for your conversation, then ask your question.
A good first test is to ask it to list your Spekit Topics. If the connector is working, it returns Topics you already have access to in Spekit.
