Sync Notion pages into shared Team Hub Topics so documentation is easy to find. This guide is for Account Admins, Team Admins, and Experts.
ℹ️ Before you start: Notion must be connected before anyone can sync pages. To connect, see Connect Notion. Notion syncs into Team Hub only, not Deal Rooms.
1. How to sync pages
Choose the specific pages to bring into Spekit. Only what you select is synced.
- Open the Spekit Hub (Web App) or the Sidekick (Chrome Extension).
- Click the Team Hub button, then click + Add New (or open Content), and choose Sync Files.
- Open the Notion filter tab. All the Notion pages you have access to appear here.
- Select the pages you want to import.
- Assign the pages to the relevant Spekit Topic(s) so they are organized and easy to find.
- Click Sync pages to finish.
ℹ️ NOTE: Spekit syncs from Notion about once an hour. A change you make in Notion appears in Spekit after the next sync. If you delete a page in Notion, it is removed from Spekit on the next sync.
2. How synced content appears in Spekit
Notion syncs like Confluence. Only a pointer comes into Spekit, not the page body.
| Feature | Behavior |
|---|---|
| Opening a synced page | Shows a View in Notion button that opens the live page in Notion. The body is not rendered in Spekit. |
| AI Sidekick and search | Surfaces the synced Notion page as a source you can reference, the same way it does for Confluence. |
| Permissions | Only users with Notion access can open the full page. |
| Formatting | Custom Notion rich-text components and Notion-only markdown are not supported. |
In the Content list, synced Notion pages appear as cards with a PAGE label and the Notion icon, and you can filter by Content source: Notion.
3. How to test your integration
After your first sync, confirm everything is routing correctly.
- Go to Content and filter by Content source: Notion to see your synced pages.
- Open a page and confirm the View in Notion button opens the right page.
- Ask the AI Sidekick to reference a synced page, and confirm it shows Notion as the source.
4. Best practices
These build on the general syncing best practices in the Content Syncing Overview. Because only a pointer syncs, the habits below are specific to Notion.
| Best practice | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Make titles descriptive | The title is the main searchable text a synced Notion page brings into Spekit. "Onboarding: Projects & Tasks (2026)" surfaces far better than "Untitled." |
| Confirm Notion access matches your audience | A user who lacks access in Notion can see the page in Spekit but cannot open it. Before you rely on a synced page, make sure the people who need it can open it in Notion. |
| Grant at the top-level page | Notion shares everything nested under a page you grant. Granting a well-organized top-level page brings its sub-pages along, so you do not have to add each one. |
| Reserve Notion for reference documentation | For content reps need to read, present, or share with buyers inside Spekit, sync the file from Google Drive or SharePoint instead. Use Notion for internal reference material that lives naturally as a page. |
| Use a Spek when reps need the content itself | If reps need the actual content of a page inside Spekit, not just a link, copy that content into a Spek. Syncing gives you a permission-aware pointer, a Spek gives you searchable, AI-readable content. |
