Turn what was said on your call into deal room content, without rewriting it by hand. If you have access to a deal room, you can use the AI Content Builder to create and update content, including templates, within that deal room, grounded in a real Gong call or an uploaded transcript. This guide covers what you can do, how to do it, and prompts that work well for a specific deal.
ℹ️ Who this is for: Reps and other Viewers with deal room access. You can create and update content and templates within the deal rooms you have access to. For building content across the whole team, that is an Expert or Admin task, see Create and Update Content from Your Calls with the AI Content Builder.
1. What you can do
Within a deal room you have access to, you can create new content and update existing content, including templates, using the AI Content Builder. The AI works only from the call or transcript you attach, so what it drafts reflects your actual conversation with the buyer, not generic filler.
2. Ground the AI in your call
The core move is always the same: attach the call or transcript, accept it as the source, then prompt.
- Open the content you are working on in your deal room, or start a new piece of content there.
- Open the AI Content Builder and click + Sources.
- Go to the Meetings tab and search for your synced Gong call (type at least 2 characters). Or click Attach Transcript to upload a .txt file from Zoom, Otter, or Chorus.
- Click Accept to ground the AI in that conversation.
- Prompt it to create or update the content based on the call, then review and save.
⚠️ To confirm before publishing: verify the exact entry point a Viewer uses to open the AI Content Builder inside a deal room (for example, from the deal room's + Content option versus the content edit screen), and add screenshots.
3. Prompt examples for a deal
Once your call is attached, prompts like these work well for a single deal:
- "Draft a follow-up for this deal room using the next steps and timeline we agreed on in the call."
- "Update this follow-up template with the pricing question the buyer raised and how we answered it."
- "Create a recap of today's call for this deal room, listing what each side committed to."
- "Pull the buyer's stated priorities from this call into a short summary for the deal room."
💡 Pro tip: Update your deal room content the same day as the call, while the details are fresh. Attaching the recording and prompting for the next steps takes a minute and keeps your next buyer touch accurate.
4. Best practices
| Best practice | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Attach the call before you prompt | Grounding the AI in the real conversation keeps the draft true to what was said, instead of generic. |
| Say what to change when updating | Name the objection, timeline, or next step to update, rather than a vague "update this," for a cleaner result. |
| Keep it to this deal | Your content here lives in your deal room. Prompt for what this buyer needs, not a general team asset. |
| Review before you save | The AI drafts from the call, but the content going to your buyer is yours. Give it a read first. |
