Sections and reordering are how you control what a buyer sees first in your Deal Room. Sections group content into clear chunks, and reordering puts your strongest material up top instead of leaving it buried under whatever you added last. Use them together so the room reads the way you intend.
ℹ️ This guide covers sections and content order in the Spekit Hub (Web App) and the extension. To add content first, see Add content to a Deal Room.
Why use sections
Sections group your content into clear, digestible chunks instead of one long list. That makes it easier for a buyer to find what matters to them, and easier for you to tailor the room to a deal.
Common ways to group sections:
| Group by | Example |
|---|---|
| Stakeholder | One section for the economic buyer, another for the technical evaluator. |
| Deal stage | Discovery materials, then proposal and pricing. |
| Solution | For multi-product deals, a section per solution. |
| Theme | Proposal and Pricing, Product Resources, Meeting Recordings, Customer Stories. |
Step 1: Add a section
In the Spekit Hub (Web App) or the extension:
- Open the Deal Room where you want to add a section.
- Click + Section.
- Enter a name for the section, then click Create section.
Your new section appears in the content list. From there you can add content to it, share it, rename it, or delete it.
💡 Pro Tip: Name sections for the buyer, like "Security and IT" or "Pricing," so they know what each one holds at a glance.
Step 2: Manage a section
Each section has a few actions.
- Click a section's name directly to rename it inline, or use the section's ... menu to Rename section.
- Add an optional description to a section inline, to give buyers a short line of context about what the section holds.
- Use the section's ... menu to Delete section.
- Use the section's share icon to copy a link to just that section.
- Drag content into the section to fill it.
💡 Pro Tip: You can rename a section and add its description right on the section itself, without opening a menu. Use the description to tell a buyer what a section is for, like "Everything your security team needs to review."
💡 Pro Tip: You can share a link to a single section instead of the whole room. Send a stakeholder straight to the content that matters to them, like the demo recordings, while they can still explore the rest.
Step 3: Reorder content and sections
The order content appears in shapes what a buyer sees first.
In the Spekit Hub (Web App):
- Open the Deal Room and click Reorder.
- Click and hold the grab icon next to a piece of content or a section, then drag it to the position you want.
- Release to place it. The new order is applied.
In the extension:
- Open the Deal Room and click the Reorder button.
- Drag and drop items into the order you want.
- Click Save changes to apply.
💡 Pro Tip: In the extension, reordering happens on its own page and you must click Save changes. In the Spekit Hub (Web App), it applies as you drag.
Best practices
| Best practice | Why it helps |
|---|---|
| Put your strongest content first | First impressions matter. Do not leave your best material at the bottom. |
| Group by who is reading | A stakeholder finds their section fast instead of scrolling the whole room. |
| Preview after reordering | Confirms the room flows the way you intend from the buyer's side. |
| Share a section for a targeted follow-up | Send one stakeholder straight to what they need in a follow-up email. |
💡 Pro Tip: Always preview the room after adding sections or reordering, so you see it the way your buyer will.
Examples
A multi-stakeholder deal. Your buyer has an economic buyer and a security reviewer. You create a "Business Case" section and a "Security and IT" section, drop the right content in each, and move the business case to the top since the economic buyer opens the room first.
A targeted follow-up. After a call, the buyer's legal team wants the mutual action plan. Instead of sending the whole room, you copy the share link for just that section and paste it into your follow-up email, so they land right on it.
