[Rep Guide] Manage Deal Room notifications

Spekit can tell you when a buyer opens your Deal Room and when your calls create suggested updates to its content. You choose which of those reach you, and how. Notification settings are personal. Changing yours does not change what your collaborators receive.

ℹ️ Notifications are set per Deal Room, not once for your whole account. A room you care about and a room you do not can have different settings.

1. Open your notification settings

  1. Open the Deal Room.
  2. Select the gear icon to open Deal Room settings.
  3. Go to the Notifications tab.
  4. Set your toggles, then select Save changes.

ℹ️ Your changes apply to you only. Every collaborator on the room controls their own notifications.

2. Choose what you get notified about

Each notification type has its own Email and In-app toggle, so you can get one, both or neither.

Notification What triggers it
Deal Room viewed Someone opens this Deal Room
Suggested content updates A call surfaces updates to content in this Deal Room

💡 Pro Tip: Turn on Deal Room viewed for deals you are actively working. Knowing a buyer is in the room right now is the difference between a timely follow-up and a generic one next week.

💡 Pro Tip: Leave at least one box ticked for suggested content updates. The suggestion flag on your content does not clear itself, so if you turn both off, nothing will tell you a call created updates worth reviewing before your next buyer conversation.

3. Get buyer activity in Slack

Deal Room viewed covers you by email and in-app. Slack is a third option, and it carries more detail than the other two.

You set it up by linking the Deal Room to a Slack channel. Once a room is linked, Spekit posts a New buyer activity in your Deal Room card to that channel showing who engaged, what they looked at, how long they spent, and whether they already exist in Salesforce. The card carries actions to open the Deal Room or send an email.

To set this up, see [Admin & Rep Guide] Map Deal Rooms to Slack channels.

💡 Pro Tip: Pick one place for view notifications rather than all three. The same visit reaching your inbox, the app and Slack trains you to ignore all of them.

ℹ️ If Slack is not connected to Spekit yet, the Slack tab in Deal Room settings shows an Install Spekit for Slack link.

4. Best practices

Best practice Why it matters
Keep suggested content updates on for active deals The flag does not clear itself. A notification is the only thing that tells you a call changed something
Turn notifications down on closed or dormant rooms Keeps the signal meaningful on the deals you are actually working
Use Slack for buyer activity and email for content updates Buyer activity is worth acting on within minutes. Content updates can wait until you are at your desk
Check your settings when you join a room as a collaborator Settings are personal and per room, so joining an existing room does not inherit anyone else's choices

💡 Pro Tip: The best moment to reach out is while a buyer is still in the room. That only happens if buyer activity reaches you somewhere you actually look, which for most reps is Slack and not email.
