You can draft and publish governed content straight from a conversation in your AI tool. Everything you create is made in Spekit, scoped to your role, and ready to reuse. This article covers the common tasks.
Before you start, set up the connector. See Spekit MCP Overview & Setup.
A note on confirmation: Write actions ask you to confirm before they run. Your AI tool shows you what it is about to create, and you approve it. Review each draft before you confirm.
📌 Quick-Jump Topics
1. Create a new Spek
Draft a new Spek from an idea, a note, or an objection you handled well.
- Tell your AI tool what you want to create and which topic it belongs under.
- Review the draft it returns.
- Confirm. The Spek is created in Spekit, filed under the topic or topics you named.
Example prompt
"Turn this objection and the way I handled it into a Spek, filed under [Topic]: [paste the objection and your response]."
💡 Pro Tip: Give it the source material to work from. The more it has, the closer the draft.
2. Create a Spek from a Template
Start from your company's layout instead of a blank page.
- Ask your AI tool to list your company's Templates.
- Pick the Template you want.
- Give it the source material, for example a product brief.
- Review the draft, then confirm. The Spek is created and already matches the Template layout.
Example prompt
"List our content templates, then use the [one-pager] template to create a Spek from this product brief: [paste the brief]."
3. Create a Topic
Add a new Topic or subtopic to organize your content.
- Ask your AI tool to create a Topic. You can create it as a subtopic of an existing Topic.
- Confirm. The topic is created in your Spekit library.
Example prompt
"Create a new topic called [name] as a subtopic of [parent topic]."
NOTE: Topics cannot be edited or deleted through the connector after they are created. See Troubleshooting Spekit MCP.
4. Create a Company
Set up a company record so you can build deal rooms under it.
- Ask your AI tool to create a company.
- Confirm. The company is created in Spekit.
Example prompt
"Create a company called [Acme]."
NOTE: Companies are create-only through the connector. They cannot be edited or deleted after creation.
5. Create a Deal Room
Stand up a buyer-facing room under a company.
A deal room sits under a company, so create the company first if it does not exist yet.
- Ask your AI tool to create a deal room under the company you want.
- Confirm. The deal room is created.
Example prompt
"Create a deal room under [Acme]."
⚠️ Two things to know
- The connector cannot turn on external sharing. To let buyers view the room, enable external access manually in Spekit after the room is created. Click here to learn how.
- Deal rooms are create-only through the connector. They cannot be renamed or edited after creation.
6. Add content to a Deal Room
Create new Speks scoped to a specific deal. You can create new Speks scoped to a specific deal room. These are tied to that deal's company context.
- Ask your AI tool to create the content you want inside the deal room.
- Review each piece.
- Confirm. Each piece is created inside the deal room, ready for you to review and send.
Example prompt
"In the [Acme] deal room, create a mutual action plan and a one-pager for their VP of IT."
NOTE: You can only create new content inside a deal room. You cannot attach an existing Spek from your knowledge base as is. Your AI tool can draft a new version based on it, but the original stays where it is.
7. Create a full content set in one request
Ask for several pieces at once and let your AI tool build them in order. One request can set off a sequence your AI tool carries out on its own. It reads the approved content it needs, then drafts and creates each piece in turn.
Review the whole set before you confirm.
Example prompt
"Build our [product] launch set: a value-prop overview, an objection-handling set, a feature comparison, and an FAQ. Use our approved launch messaging in Spekit."
