The Spekit and Gong integration brings your Gong call insights into Spekit AI Sidekick, right where reps already work. Reps get the recap, key moments, and next steps from their recent calls the moment they need them, without switching between Gong, their CRM, email, and notes, so they can follow up faster and keep deals moving.
đ Quick-Jump Topics
1. What the integration does
Connecting Gong to Spekit brings real-time deal intelligence into the tools your reps already use.
- Unified deal intelligence. Recent call recaps, key moments, and next steps appear directly in AI Sidekick, with no tab switching.
- Actionable follow-ups. Reps use the exact language, objections, and commitments from a call to draft accurate follow-ups in seconds.
- Contextual to the deal. In Gmail, insights are matched to the account the rep is emailing.
- Turn calls into content. Reps can create new Speks, or update existing content and deal room templates, from a call using the AI Content Builder.
Why admins connect Gong:
- Increase rep productivity by putting high-quality call insights into daily workflows.
- Improve follow-up accuracy by reducing missed details and outdated notes.
- Maintain deal momentum by giving reps the context to act quickly and confidently.
2. What reps see in AI Sidekick
Once Gong is connected, AI Sidekick surfaces a rep's most actionable call data based on where they are working:
- Everywhere they work (Salesforce, LinkedIn, any tab): their 3 most recent external calls.
- In Gmail: calls tied to the specific contact they are emailing, for contacts linked to an active Salesforce account. If there is no match, Sidekick shows their 3 most recent calls overall.
For each call, reps click View Details to open the Recap, Key Moments, and Next Steps, plus a link to the full Gong recording. Full detail is in the rep guide.
3. Who can do what (roles and access)
Gong has two sides: an admin connects it once, then it works automatically for reps. Here is who does what, and what each person needs.
| Action | Who can do it | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Connect Gong to Spekit (setup) | Spekit Account Admin only | Must also be the Gong Technical Administrator, or invite the Gong Technical Administrator into the Spekit instance to finish setup |
| See Gong insights in AI Sidekick | Any licensed user, reps included | Valid Gong and Spekit licenses, Sidekick (Chrome Extension) v2025.44.3 or later |
| See all imported calls | Spekit Account Admin | Admin-level access |
| See own external calls only | Reps (non-admins) | Calls where they were host or participant, matched by email |
âšī¸ Good to know: Only Account Admins can reach the Connections page and connect Gong. Team Admins, Experts, and Viewers cannot manage integrations. Once an admin connects Gong, there is nothing for individual users to set up. Spekit users without a Gong license still see external meetings where they were the host or a participant.
4. Setup (admin required)
Setup is a one-time configuration by a Spekit Account Admin, coordinated with the Gong Technical Administrator. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes.
â ī¸ The Spekit Account Admin completing setup must also be the Gong Technical Administrator, or invite the Gong Technical Administrator into the Spekit instance. Coordination is essential to finish the connection.
đ Need to find you Gong Admin? In Gong, click your profile avatar, then My settings, then scroll to Technical administrators, then Show All, then click the admin's name to email them.
Setup Steps
- In the Spekit Hub (Web App), go to Settings, then Connections.
- Find the Gong tile and click Connect.
- When prompted, log in to Gong with the appropriate admin account. In the pop-up, click Connect, then Allow Spekit to access your Gong account.
- Back in Spekit, click Complete Gong Setup to open the configuration window.
- In Gong, open Admin Center, then Ecosystem, then Automation Rules.
- Click Add Rule.
- Copy the Spekit Connection URL from the Complete Gong Setup window in Spekit, and paste it into Gong's Enter URL field, under Rule Action.
- Enable Signed JWT header, click Show public key, and copy the key.
- Paste that public key into the designated field in the Complete Gong Setup window in Spekit.
- Name your rule, for example "Spekit Connection," and enable the Rule Status.
- In Spekit, click Save & Connect Gong. A green confirmation pop-up should appear. Click X to close.
- In Gong, click Test Now, select a call to test the connection, then Save. If the test fails, re-check the configuration.
â ī¸ Troubleshooting tip: Gong sometimes needs a page refresh to confirm rule status. After saving, return to Automation Rules and refresh to confirm the green checkmark and that the rule is enabled. If issues persist, contact support@spekit.co.
After setup
- Automatic enablement. All users with valid Gong and Spekit licenses and the Sidekick (Chrome Extension) v2025.44.3 or later are enabled. There is no per-user setup.
- Near-real-time sync. New call insights are delivered shortly after each call is processed in Gong.
- No historical backfill. Only calls that happen after connection appear. Past calls are not seeded.
đĄ Pro Tip (Admins): Before you announce Gong to reps, connect it and confirm your team is on the Sidekick (Chrome Extension) v2025.44.3 or later. Then tell reps that only new calls appear going forward, so they know past calls will not show up.
5. Manage or disconnect the connection
Admins can manage the Gong connection in the Spekit Hub under Settings, then Connections, where you can reconnect or disconnect it.
If you disconnect Gong:
- New call data stops syncing from Gong to Spekit right away.
- Calls that were already imported are generally kept in Spekit.
You can use the same Connections page to re-establish the link later.
