Revenue Insights is used to measure the direct influence of your sales content and enablement initiatives on pipeline and closed-won deals. Learn how to set up Revenue Insights and use all the features available to leverage Unified Deal Intelligence.
Prerequisites:
- You must have Trackable Links enabled. Contact your CSM or support@spekit.co if needed.
- Create a dedicated Salesforce Integration User to manage the connection. This improves security, ensures better tracking, and minimizes disruptions if individual user accounts change.
- Authenticate the connection using only the Integration User for a stable, consistent link between the two platforms.

1. Connect Salesforce Instance (Salesforce Admin Required)
Important: Salesforce Sandbox connections are not currently supported. This setup must be completed by a Salesforce Admin using dedicated Integration User credentials.
- Open the Spekit Web App.
- Navigate to Settings.
- Click Connect.
- Find the CRM Revenue Insights for Shared Content tile.
-
Click Connect to Salesforce.
- Log in to Salesforce when prompted to complete the authentication using the Integration User.
Integration Purpose: This connection allows Spekit to link external buyer engagement data (from Trackable Links) directly back to specific Accounts, Users, and Opportunities within your Salesforce instance.
2. Map Required Fields and Sync Data
Initial Field Mapping (Aligning Data)
Field mapping is essential for ensuring that Spekit is tracking data against the correct objects and fields in Salesforce. The initial step occurs immediately after authentication.
- The field mapping step will be presented after authentication.
-
Review the pre-selected default field mappings to ensure accurate data syncing by mapping key fields:
- All Objects: crm_id, is_deleted, created_date, source
- Account: Includes Name
- User: Includes username, email, is_active
- Opportunity: Includes name, stage_name, is_closed, status
- If necessary, adjust mappings by selecting relevant custom fields from your Salesforce instance.
- Click Exit (X) to save your initial field mappings.
Updating Field Mapping (Maintenance)
-
To adjust mappings later, open the Spekit Web App, navigate to Settings, and click Field Mapping.
- A pop-up will appear showing a list of objects. Click into each object to review and manage the field mappings (Spekit fields on the left, Salesforce fields on the right).
- Click Make Selections next to any field you’d like to reconfigure.
- Adjust the mapping by selecting the appropriate custom field from your Salesforce instance.
- Click the Exit (X) button—your changes will be saved automatically.
Initial Field Mapping (Aligning Data)
Once mapping is complete, you must initiate the initial data sync to pull Salesforce records into Spekit for use with Trackable Links and Analytics.
- Open the Spekit Web App.
- Navigate to Settings.
-
Click Sync Salesforce Data.
- A notification will confirm the sync has started. You will be notified in the Spekit Web App and Chrome Extension once the sync is complete.
3. How to Validate Your Data
After the sync, validate that Salesforce data is correctly populating the Trackable Links sharing options:
- Open a piece of content that can be shared externally (e.g., a Spek or File).
- Click the share arrow and select Externally.
- Verify that synced Salesforce data (Accounts, Opportunities) appears correctly in the company dropdown, confirming the connection is active and data is flowing.
Note on Data Prioritization: When presenting options in the dropdown, Trackable Links intelligently prioritizes data based on:
- Recent activity within your Salesforce instance.
- Opportunities where you are the owner.
