What is Custom Branding?
Custom Branding is a feature designed to make Spekit feel like a natural part of your company’s environment. It allows you to personalize the platform by adding your company’s logo and colors to various parts of Spekit, including the embedded Speks, the Sidebar, and the Web App.
This means that when your team interacts with Spekit, they’ll see your company’s unique branding, making the experience more cohesive and aligned with your company’s visual identity.
Why should you use Custom Branding?
Custom Branding helps maintain brand consistency by aligning Spekit with your company’s visual identity. It enhances user experience by making Spekit feel integrated and familiar, boosting comfort and professionalism. Overall, it helps Spekit blend seamlessly into your company’s sales enablement tools.
How to set up Custom Branding
1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Navigate to Settings.
3.) Open the Admin Tools tab, and click Custom Branding.
4.) Click the upload icons button to add your company’s logotypes and logomarks. For optimal clarity and scalability, we recommend using vector format (SVG) to avoid any blurriness. Here’s how your logos will be used in the Spekit Web App and Chrome Extension:
-
Full-Color Logotype: Appears in the primary navigation of both the Web App and Spekit Chrome Extension. Upload a logo with a maximum width of 130px and a maximum height of 40px.
-
Full-Color Logomark: Used for embedded Speks on all pages and in the header of the embedded Spek view. For the header, upload a logo with dimensions of 28 x 28px. For embedded Speks on the page, use a logo with dimensions of 17 x 17px.
-
White Logotype: Displayed in the expanded version of the dock in the Spekit Chrome Extension. Upload a logo with a maximum width of 65px and a dynamic height.
-
White Logomark: Shown in the minimized version of the dock in the Spekit Chrome Extension. Upload a logo with dimensions of 32 x 32px.
5.) Select the file, and click open.
6.) In the Colors section, enter your primary color’s HEX code to select it.
- Don’t have your company’s HEX code? Click here to use a free tool.
NOTE: To be accessible for users, the primary color should meet the WCAG AA minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 with white text.
7.) Click Save Changes.
NOTE: Full custom branding can take up to 24 hours to display for Viewers. For Viewers to put this update into effect immediately, they should click on the Spekit logo in the Sidebar and refresh the browser.

Custom Branding Troubleshooting & Common Issues
Custom branding in Spekit helps integrate your company’s identity into the platform. To ensure a smooth setup, we've outlined some helpful troubleshooting steps.
- Double-Check Your Files: Make sure your logos and logomarks are in the right format (SVG, PNG, or JPEG).
- Refresh to See Changes: After you’ve uploaded your branding assets, give your browser a quick refresh to see if the changes have taken effect. If they don’t show up right away, try clearing your browser’s cache—it can sometimes hold onto old data and cause issues.
- Check Spekit Chrome Extension Version: If your changes haven’t taken effect, your Spekit Chrome Extension might be outdated. Ensure your extension is updated to version v2024.35.23 or higher. Refer to this article to learn how to check and update your Spekit Chrome Extension version.
- Check Color Updates: If you've updated your primary color, take a look around to see if it's showing up in all the right places—like buttons, links, and the dock background. Make sure the new color is easy to read and meets accessibility standards.
- Test Across Devices: Open Spekit on both the Chrome Extension and the Web App to make sure your new branding looks great everywhere. Don’t forget to check embedded Speks on different pages to ensure everything is consistent.
- Clear Your Browser History: If the branding changes still aren’t visible, try clearing your entire browser history, including cached images and files. Sometimes, old data can get in the way of new updates.
- Give Your Computer a Restart: Sometimes a full reboot of your computer can help refresh everything and make sure your new branding is applied across all platforms.
- Ensure You Have the Right Permissions: Double-check that you have the necessary admin rights to make these changes. Also, ensure all your updates were saved correctly in the Custom Branding settings.
- Test the White Logos: Make sure the white versions of your logos look good in the expanded and minimized versions of the dock in the Chrome extension. They should stand out and be easy to see against the dock background.
- Re-upload if Needed: If things still aren’t working right, try re-uploading your branding files. Sometimes a fresh upload can solve any issues that happened the first time around.
- Reach Out for Help: If you're still having trouble after trying everything, don’t hesitate to contact Spekit support. They’re there to help, and it’s always better to get a little extra assistance than to stay stuck.
