[Rep Guide] Connect a Deal Room to a Salesforce Opportunity

This is the step that makes Revenue Insights work for your Deal Rooms. When you connect a Deal Room to a Salesforce opportunity, the engagement it generates resolves to that deal, so you and your team can see the pipeline and revenue it influences. If you skip this step, that data does not exist. This guide covers new Deal Rooms and existing ones.

ℹ️ Why this matters: Influenced pipeline revenue and influenced revenue won are calculated from the opportunities tied to your Deal Rooms. Connecting the opportunity is what turns engagement into pipeline you can measure, for your own reporting and for the whole team's content performance data. For Trackable Links, see Connect a Trackable Link to a Salesforce Opportunity.

1. Connect a new Deal Room

Do this as you create the Deal Room.

  1. Open the Spekit Hub (Web App) or the Sidekick (Chrome Extension).
  2. Start a new Deal Room to open the Create modal.
  3. When you select the company, choose the opportunity associated with it in the company field.
  4. Finish creating the Deal Room. Its engagement now resolves to that opportunity.

2. Connect an existing Deal Room

If the Deal Room already exists, add the opportunity from its settings.

  1. Open the Deal Room in the Spekit Hub (Web App).
  2. Click the Deal Room settings (the gear icon).
  3. Under General, find the company field.
  4. Select the opportunity associated with the Deal Room.

3. A tip for existing customers

For a current customer, do not just select the customer account name. Instead, target their future renewal opportunity. That way you can still track influenced pipeline and opportunity data on the Deal Room, even though it is an existing account.

💡 Pro tip: Make selecting the opportunity part of how you create every Deal Room, not something you go back and fix later. Engagement that happened before an opportunity was connected is harder to attribute, so connect it up front and your reporting stays clean from the first view.

💡 Pro tip: For renewals and expansions, always point at the renewal or expansion opportunity rather than the account. It keeps your influenced-pipeline number tied to a real, open deal instead of a closed one.
