How to Manage Deal Room Notifications

How to Manage Deal Room Notifications

What notifications tell you

Notifications are how you find out what's happening in a Deal Room without having to check it manually. There are two things Spekit can notify you about:

NotificationWhat triggers it
Deal Room viewedSomeone opens this Deal Room
Suggested content updates (New)A call surfaces updates to content in this Deal Room

Each one can be delivered by Email, In-app (the bell icon in Sidekick), or both — and you choose independently per notification type.

How to set notification preferences

When creating a new Deal Room:

  1. During Deal Room creation, click the Notifications tab.
  2. For each notification type (Deal Room viewed, Suggested content updates), check or uncheck Email and In-app as you'd like.
  3. Continue through the rest of setup and click Create Deal Room.

These settings are personal to you

Notification settings are set per collaborator, not per Deal Room.

When you turn a notification on or off, it only changes what you receive — it has no effect on what any other collaborator sees. If you're on a deal with an SE, a manager, and another rep, all four of you can have completely different notification setups on the exact same Deal Room, and none of you needs to coordinate with the others.

Deal Room viewed

This is the core buyer-engagement signal: the moment someone opens the Deal Room, you can be notified immediately. This is what makes it possible to follow up while a buyer's interest is highest, instead of guessing when they last looked at anything.

  • Email — get a notification in your inbox
  • In-app — get a notification in Sidekick's bell icon, which takes you straight to that Deal Room's analytics when you click it
  • Slack - in a specific deal room channel

Suggested content updates (New)

This notification is tied to Spekit's Dynamic Deal Content capability. Here's what it does and why it matters:

If your organization is connected to both Gong and Salesforce CRM Revenue Insights, and a Deal Room is linked to a Salesforce Opportunity or Account, Spekit automatically reviews that Deal Room's content after every call logged against the deal. If something in the conversation makes existing content out of date — a stakeholder changed, pricing shifted, a timeline moved — Spekit flags the affected content and shows you a side-by-side diff: what's there now, what it's suggesting instead, and the specific call detail that triggered the suggestion.

Nothing changes automatically. Each suggestion is a one-click accept or reject, and you need to click Save after reviewing before it takes effect. If you ignore a flagged suggestion, it simply sits there — nothing changes on its own.

A few things worth knowing:

  • Prerequisites: this only works if your org is connected to both Gong and Salesforce CRM Revenue Insights, and the Deal Room itself is tied to a Salesforce Opportunity or Account. A Deal Room without that Salesforce link won't generate suggestions.
  • Scope: suggestions apply to content that lives natively in that Deal Room (your own customized copies), not to files or team-wide source templates — your master template library stays untouched no matter what you accept or reject in a single deal.
  • Notification behavior: you'll get an email pointing you to the AI-generated suggestions based on the most recent call. Check the in-app toggle if you'd also like this to surface as a Sidekick notification.

Best practice: make checking for suggestions a post-call habit — review the call detail behind each one before accepting, since it's a one-click action but should only be accepted if the reasoning actually holds up.
