Tying a deal room to the right Salesforce Opportunity or Account

Tying a deal room to the right Salesforce Opportunity or Account

The use case: You've built a deal room for a prospect. You want the views, opens, and engagement on that deal room to roll up to the correct Account and Opportunity in Salesforce — so that when Marketing or your CRO asks "how are the buyers engaging on this deal" or "did this content actually move the deal," the answer is already sitting in your deals dashboard instead of buried in someone's memory.

How it works today: When you share content externally (from a Spek, a File, or a Deal Room), you'll see a company dropdown. This dropdown is populated directly from your synced Salesforce data — Accounts and Opportunities you have access to. Pick the right one, and every future view, download, or interaction against that shared link gets tied back to that deal automatically.

  1. Click Create Deal Rooms
  2. Select Company
    1. Accounts have the Salesforce Icon
    2. Opportunities have the crown Icon

A couple of things make this dropdown easier to use than it sounds:

  • It prioritizes recent activity in Salesforce, so deals you've touched lately float to the top.
  • It prioritizes opportunities you own, so you're not scrolling past deals that belong to teammates.

If you don't see the account or opportunity you expect, it's almost always a Salesforce sharing-rules issue on the admin side, not a broken connection — flag it to your Spekit admin.

Once it's connected, you'll see the amount and stage in every deal room:
