[Rep Guide] Edit, clone, and archive a Deal Room

Once a Deal Room exists, you can keep it current as the deal moves, reuse it for the next one, and clear it out of your active view when the deal closes. This guide covers editing, cloning, archiving, and restoring.

ℹ️ These actions live at the top of a Deal Room and in Deal Room settings. To create a room, see Create a Deal Room.

1. Deal Room name vs. the title your buyer sees

These are two different things, and you can set them independently.

Both reach your buyer, so treat both as buyer-facing. The difference is how each one is used.

You do not have to keep them the same. A room named "OmniCorp x Spekit 2028 Renewal Deal Room" in your list can carry a warmer, fuller title for the buyer.

⚠️ The name is not private. Even though you set it for your own tracking, your buyer can end up seeing it. Never put internal notes, deal risk, discount details, or anything else you would not say to the buyer in a Deal Room name.

💡 Pro Tip: Keep the name plain and searchable, then use the title to make the room feel built for them. The name is how you find it. The title is how they meet it.

2. Edit a Deal Room's name

Renaming keeps your Deal Rooms list organized and makes each room clearly reflect its deal. You can rename a room at any time, and renaming does not change the link you have already shared.

1. Open the Deal Room you want to rename.
2. Open Deal Room settings.
3. Go to the General tab.
4. Edit the name.

💡 Pro Tip: Name rooms the same way every time, for example company, then deal type, then year. A consistent pattern makes a long list searchable.

3. Edit the title, description, and header in the Room builder

The Room builder is where you shape what your buyer sees when the room opens. Open the Deal Room and go to the Room builder to make these changes.

Use Preview at the top right to see the room the way your buyer will see it before you share.

💡 Pro Tip: The description is a good place for one line on what the room is for. It is the first thing your buyer reads after the title.

4. Update branding on an existing room

You can change a room's logo and colors any time after creating it.

1. Open the Deal Room.
2. Click the settings gear to open Deal Room settings.
3. Go to the Branding tab.
4. Search for the company to apply its logo and colors, or upload a logo and set a custom color manually.
5. Click Save changes.

5. Clone a Deal Room

Cloning duplicates a room's structure, content, and settings for a new deal, so you keep consistency and save time.

1. Open the Deal Room you want to clone.
2. Click Clone Deal Room at the top of the room.
3. In the Clone Deal Room window, set the details:
   • Choose or add a company: select the Salesforce opportunity, or type a company name for internal tracking.
   • Rename the Deal Room (optional): this name is visible to the buyer.
   • Access: set the access controls for the new room, like requiring an email address.
4. Go to the Branding tab to adjust the logo and colors for the new deal.
5. Click Clone Deal Room to finish.

💡 Pro Tip: Cloning is the fast way to reuse a model room. Build one great room, then clone it for each new deal instead of starting from scratch.

6. Archive a Deal Room

Archiving removes a closed or inactive room from your active view without deleting it. You can restore it anytime.

In the Spekit Hub (Web App):

1. Open the Deal Room you want to archive.
2. Click Archive at the top of the room.
3. In the confirmation pop-up, click Yes, Archive.

In the Sidekick (Chrome Extension):

1. Open the Deal Room you want to archive.
2. Click the ... (more) menu and select Archive.
3. In the confirmation pop-up, click Yes, Archive.

The room moves to the Archived tab.

7. Restore an archived Deal Room

Restoring brings an archived room back into your active workspace. This is done in the Spekit Hub (Web App).

1. Open the Deal Rooms landing page.
2. Go to the Archived tab.
3. Find the Deal Room you want to restore.
4. Click Restore, then click Yes, Restore in the confirmation pop-up.

The room reappears in the My Deal Rooms tab.

💡 Pro Tip: Archive rooms once a deal closes or stalls, so your active list only shows what you are working now. Nothing is lost, and you can restore anytime.
