Are you running into some issues with the Spekit Chrome Extension? Check out these troubleshooting tips and procedures to get your Chrome Extension working correctly. Some of these solutions may require you to have Account Admin-level access.
How to enable or disable the Spekit Chrome Extension
Occasionally there is a need to disable the Spekit Chrome Extension. This method is preferred over uninstalling the Extension. Disabling the Extension is a less destructive action than uninstalling it.
In Google Chrome:
1.) Right-click the Spekit icon.
2.) Left-click Manage Extensions.
A new tab will open to the Spekit Chrome Extension.
3.) Toggle the Extension on or off.
How to check and update the Spekit Chrome Extension version
In Google Chrome:
1.) Right-click the Spekit icon.
2.) Left-click Manage Extensions.
A new tab will open to the Spekit Chrome Extension.
3.) Check to make sure the Developer mode is toggled on.
4.) Take a look at the Version.
5.) Click Update (if needed).
How to allow third-party cookies-Spekit Chrome Extension (Google Chrome)
1.) In Google Chrome, go to Settings and search cookies.
2.) Click on Cookies and other site data.
3.) Look for Sites that can always use cookies/
4.) Click Add.
5.) Type exactly as the [*.]example.com shows.
6.) Add entries for ALL (3) of these shown below...

Troubleshooting Slow Page Load Times
In this section, we will walk you through some basic troubleshooting steps to help isolate issues related to slow page load times:

Note: It is expected behavior that the Spekit Chrome Extension may add 3 seconds to page load times. This is considered normal behavior of the Spekit Chrome Extension.
Basic Troubleshooting
1.) Check for any system-wide open incidents at https://status.spekit.com/
- If there is an open incident, monitor the status page. After the incident is resolved, retest your page load speeds to see if they've improved.
2.) Update the Spekit Chrome Extension and Chrome.
- Ensure you are using the latest Spekit Chrome Extension.

- Ensure Chrome is up-to-date. Click here to learn how to update Google Chrome.
3.) Clear the cache in Chrome and restart your computer.
- As a best practice, we recommend you clear your Chrome cache, restart your computer and retest it after it's been restarted.
4.) If you are connected to a VPN, disconnect from the VPN and retest.
5.) Try connecting to a different Wi-Fi network and retesting.
Salesforce Troubleshooting
Record EPT times with Spekit enabled.
1.) Verify that Spekit is enabled.
2.) Close all open tabs in Salesforce.
3.) Make the Salesforce EPT visible.
- Add ?eptVisible=1 to the Lightning URL
Ex: https://<example>.lightning.force.com/one/one.app?eptVisible=1 - `https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=000313860&type=1
4.) Open the Salesforce record that was slow to load (e.g., Opportunity or Account record).
5.) Record the EPT time.
6.) Refresh the page.
7.) Record the EPT time.
8.) Repeat steps 4-7 for three other records. It is recommended to choose various record types to isolate the issue to a record type or page layout.
Record EPT times with Spekit disabled
1.) Verify that Spekit is disabled.
2.) Close all open tabs in Salesforce.
3.) Make the Salesforce EPT visible.
- Add ?eptVisible=1 to the Lightning URL
Ex: https://<example>.lightning.force.com/one/one.app?eptVisible=1
4.) Open the same Salesforce record as the steps above.
5.) Record the EPT time.
6.) Refresh the page.
7.) Record the EPT time.
8.) Repeat steps 4-7 for the same three other records you tested above. It is recommended to choose various record types to isolate the issue to a record type or page layout.
Troubleshooting other Web Tools
Verify the web tool is on our Tier 1 or Tier 2 supported applications list. Our Engineering Team will not address performance issues related to Tier 3 apps.
Record page load times with Spekit enabled
1.) Verify that Spekit is enabled.
2.) Go to the page you are testing.
3.) Right-click anywhere on the page and click Inspect.
4.) Click the Network tab.
5.) Refresh the page.
6.) Record the "Finish" and "Load" times (located at the bottom of the Network pane).
7.) Refresh the page and record the Finish and Load times.
8.) Perform the same steps while viewing 2-3 other pages in the same web tool to gather more data points.
Record page load times with Spekit disabled
1.) Verify that Spekit is disabled.
2.) Go to the same page as above.
