Installing the Spekit Chrome Extension
The following steps are needed if an end-user needs to reinstall the Spekit Chrome extension. Spekit invites are sent when a go-live occurs, and installing the Spekit Chrome extension is the first step after clicking to accept the invite.
Note: Ensure you have the Spekit Chrome Extension installed before moving forward.
Mass Deploying the Spekit Chrome Extension
The Spekit Chrome Extension can be mass deployed to your workstations via Group Policy, Jamf, and any other centralized management or EMM systems that support deploying Google Chrome Web Store Extensions.
Mass Deploy the Spekit Chrome Extension via Group Policy
Target Audience: IT Administrator
If you have to deploy the Chrome Extension to more than 100 computers, Spekit recommends mass deploying the Extension via Group Policy or an MDM.
This walks you through the process of mass deploying the Chrome browser, the Spekit Extension, and Chrome cookie settings via Active Directory and Group Policy:

Step 1: Prep Group Policy
1.) Download GPO ADM and installer files.
2.) Extract the zip file.
3.) Open the Group Policy Management console.
4.) Create a new GPO in the appropriate OU.
5.) Edit the new GPO.
6.) Expand Computer Configuration > Policies.
7.) Right-click Administrative Templates and select Add/Remove Templates.
8.) Browse and select the appropriate ADM file in the extracted zip file.
Step 1A: Create a network share
1.) Create a network share that is accessible by all computers.
2.) Copy the appropriate Chrome install file into this share.
Step 2: Mass deploy Chrome browser
1.) Edit the GPO created in Step 1.
2.) Expand Computer Configuration > Policies > Software Settings.
3.) Right-click Software installation.
4.) Click New > Package.
5.) Get the full UNC path for the network share created in Step 1a and paste it into the path bar.
6.) Select the Google install file and click Open.
7.) Select Assigned.
8.) Click OK.
Step 3: Mass deploy Spekit Chrome Extension
1.) Edit the GPO created in Step 1.
2.) Expand Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Classic Administrative Templates > Google > Google Chrome > Extensions.
3.) Double-click on Configure the list of force-installed apps and Extensions.
4.) Select Enabled.
5.) Click Show.
6.) In the Value box, enter: nbphjjmibhopfgkkbpoggemjnihnchhk
- This value is the Spekit Chrome Extension ID.
7.) Click OK twice.
