Can I connect to more than one Spekit instance using my Seismic account?
Yes, when connecting your Seismic account, you can connect it to more than one Spekit instance.
How does Search work in Spekit for Seismic content?
The search results are based on Seismic's search algorithm. This search goes through the Seismic API, and Spekit returns its results.
Example: Search in the Spekit Web App for the keywords case study.
If you perform the same search in Seismic for the case study, you will notice all of the other search results are "promoted," meaning they will show first with the keyword "case study."

2.) Click on the Spek you wish to view Seismic content for.
3.) Click the name of the Seismic content to view it.
A new tab will open to load and view the Seismic content.

8.) Click the name of the Seismic content to view it.
A new tab will open to load and view the Seismic content.
What results appear when selecting the Seismic dropdown without entering a keyword?
In the Spekit Web App, when users choose Seismic from the drop-down to search, they will not see any default results - this is consistent with search behavior in the Spekit Web App.
In the Spekit Chrome Extension, when a user chooses Seismic from the drop-down, they will see the default result set from Seismic for an empty search - this is consistent with search behavior in the Spekit Chrome Extension.
What happens when a user searches and no results are returned?
For both the Spekit Web App and the Spekit Chrome Extension. The user is taken to a “no results” screen, consistent with what is shown for other resource types in Spekit today.
What is the default search order when nothing has been searched?
The Seismic search service returns results sorted by relevance as default. Seismic has its algorithm for relevance.
Ordering fields:
- name Content name
- createdDate Date when content created
- publishDate Date when content published
- modifiedDate Date when content last modified
- majorVersion Content major version
- minorVersion Content minor version
Will creators lose their partially drafted Spek if they are editing a Spek and decide to connect Seismic for the first time while editing that Spek?
No. Users will not because the auth opens in a new browser tab, and when they return, they will need to re-open the Seismic embed button in the Rich Text Editor utility bar to be able to search - nothing is lost. This is true for the Spekit Chrome Extension and the Spekit Web App.
If a user clicks to connect to Seismic in the sidebar or the Spek icon pops while editing Salesforce, will they lose their work in Salesforce if it’s not saved in Salesforce?
No, they will not lose their work in Salesforce. The connection process opens in a new tab.
