You can connect Spekit with your Sandbox but there are some limitations:
Highlights:
- Each Spekit account can only be connected to ONE Salesforce org (sandbox, production, free developer)
- You can test with as many sandboxes as you want - simply create a new Spekit account to connect to the sandbox
- However for the ONGOING use case, we highly encourage connecting and maintaining documentation in your Salesforce production org
- That's the most stable and isn't locked out when you refresh
- We can transfer content on your behalf from any sandbox account to production when you're ready
Devil in the Details:
- Spekit's Chrome extension talks to Spekit backend, which in turn is connected to your SFDC org of choice
- So it will find matches based on the the SFDC org you've connected
- Ex: If you're connected to SFDC environment A in Spekit, but logged into a SFDC Environment B in your browser, the chrome won't know that
- It's still connected to and finding matches from your originally connected SFDC Environment A
- Sandboxes get refreshed often, and that breaks the connection to Spekit - including your ability to login with sandbox credentials, and ability to resync Spekit
