With a single click, you can generate your own editable copy of a Google Doc, Sheet, or Slide from a Spek. Then, with the Spekit Chrome Extension, you can add your personalized version directly to a Deal Room—so everything stays in one place and your team can track what’s being shared and viewed.

What Do You Need to Use This?
✅ User Requirements:
- Spekit Chrome Extension installed
- Google account connected via OAuth
- Viewer access to the original Google Drive file with download and copy permissions enabled
⚙️ Admin Setup:
In Spekit, enable Personalization for the Spek:
- Open the piece of content, and click Edit.
- Turn on Allow External Sharing.
- Enable Allow internal users to copy and modify.
Ensure the Google Drive file:
- Has Viewer permissions with download and copy enabled
- Is stored in a shared folder accessible to users
How to Use Personalized Content
Before You Start: Make sure your Google account is connected to Spekit via OAuth. You’ll be prompted the first time you personalize content—or you can do it in your Spekit settings ahead of time.
Steps to Personalize Content:
1.) Open the Spekit Web App.
2.) Navigate to the content you want to personalize and open it.
3.) Click the “Personalize” button to generate your customized version.
4.) Confirm your action in the pop-up by clicking Personalize.
5.) Your personalized file will open in a new tab—fully editable and saved to your Google Drive
6.) Use the Add to Deal Room button (in Google apps) to instantly share your file in a Deal Room
How Is User Activity Tracked?
Each personalized file is automatically linked back to the original piece of content—so admins can maintain visibility into what’s being personalized and shared. Admins can also revoke Personalization access at any time to support compliance or content updates.
What Does the “Add to Deal Room” Button Do?
While working on your personalized file in Google, the Add to Deal Room button (via the Spekit Chrome Extension) lets you:
- Link your personalized file back to the original Spek for full tracking
- Add any Google Drive file directly into a Deal Room—even if it wasn’t personalized through Spekit
